Happy APRIL! It is officially birthday MONTH!! This weekend finished off a pretty amazing month.

On Saturday morning, I woke up bright and early to meet Susie and Troy to go on a ride with a local cycling group called Ride Yourself Fit!

It’s for a level of riders, from beginners to advance. They have a 10 mile ride, 20 mile ride, and 30 mile ride. Seeing as I have a 62 mile ride in June, I thought I better step it up and join the 30 milers.

It was an awesome course and the most beautiful weather! I liked that we stayed as a group and didn’t leave anyone behind. I met a friend named Brenda on the ride and chatting with her made the time just fly right by!

Gotta love the burn from a 3 hour bike ride!

I met up with Susie and Troy for brunch, where I enjoyed an egg white spinach omelet with avocado and of course home fries!

Later that afternoon the Hubby and I went to my grandparents house for a little early Easter/birthday party for my cousin Caden. I can’t believe he is 17!!!

I enjoyed a veggie burger and a large salad and finally gave Stella Rose a try as everyone keeps raving about it. Sadly friends I wasn’t a fan Sad smile I am not a huge sweet red wine kinda   girl, it tasted like sparkling grape juice.

We headed out early because I had my first LONG RUN of marathon training in the morning! Susie and I met up at my house at 6:15am and took off on a nice 16 mile rolling hill run! We honestly had the best view of the sunrise. I felt so great the whole run and even picked up my speed toward the end. We ran about a 9:15 average pace and I am pretty sure we could have even gone faster!

As soon as the run was over, I slipped into my Sunday dress and we headed to Church. Our pastor gave the best message and it was so great worshipping with everyone. After church we loaded up the car and headed over to my aunts for a little Easter celebration. I brought my go to Summer Salad, spinach, strawberries, walnut, and blue cheese.  It is always a big hit!

If you are new to the blog you may not know this, but I don’t like cake (I know sad day). But my hubby and Uncle insisted that I have a bite of my Aunt’s cupcakes and before I knew it they were all over my face!

And yet we had one more dinner to go to!!! After we left my Aunt’s we headed over to my Dad’s for a little dessert and a little birthday celebration for my sweet step sister Jessica. My step mom makes the best Carrot CAKE ever!!!

When you have four brothers, some how you decided to wrestle in the living room, become a human bench press….and…

arm wrestle with your brothers girlfriend!

I am pretty sure we are the most active/competitive family you would ever meet. We also had a pushup, squat , and plank contest!! I won them all by the way ‘Winking smile

What a wonderful day celebrating our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I love my crazy family and anytime I get to spend a weekend with them, my heart is filled with joy!

Question: Is your family competitive? Did you have a good Easter weekend?

  1. I think I’m one of the only people in may family who got the competitive gene… but I think that I make up for all of their lack of one! Looks like you had a fantastic weekend 🙂

  2. My family is very much the same way- at any get together there is bound to be an arm wrestling (or full body wrestling!!) competition, mile race etc….very fun!

  3. What a fun weekend! That carrot cake looks to die for. You’re going to kill that marathon if you’re already running that mileage at that pace after not running as much as you used to.

Per usual you look stunning! 🙂
