A Birthday “Experience”
Last night’s birthday wasn’t just a meal it was an experience!
I took Hubby to the Melting Pot. A place we both had never been to and I have heard amazing reviews about it.
We both loved the fact that it was a four course meal that included, bread and cheese, salad (I was happy about this), veggies, meat, and dessert!
Best part was, you got to PLAY with your food!
The set up is fun. They place a fondue pot in the middle of your table and fill it with wonderful things to dip all your food in. We started with bread, veggies, and green apples.
Never new I would enjoy cauliflower so much!
I order a glass of the 7 Hand Cab.
After we devoured our cheese and things I had a California salad (we also took Hubby’s to-go so I can enjoy it later).
I loved that there was a lot of time in between our courses. We had fun chatting about the future and being silly of course. Don’t you just love my flashy earrings!
For our main course we ordered the Surf and Turf and something else that I can’t remember the name of. It had a little bit of everything, plus Hubby’s favorite Filet Minion.
I couldn’t wait to eat the SHRIMP!
MMMM Veggies!
They gave us a lot of wonderful dipping sauces.
We learned all the different times for cooking each meat and then we went at it!
It was fun making our own food!
The pot was HOT!
All of the seafood and meat was AMAZING. I think my favorite thing to cook was the mushrooms in the tempura batter
I couldn’t believe I still had room for dessert!!
More Birthday Wishes!
The dessert tray was filled with strawberries, bananas, chocolate covered marshmallows, rice crispy treats, and a giant piece of cheesecake!
We ordered the chocolate peanut butter fondue
The Bananas were my favorite!!!
They even gave us some Champaign to go along with our chocolate!
Cheers to another YEAR of happiness!
The whole experience took us three hours and every minute was amazing!!!

This morning I woke up in a FOOD COMA!!! I have to get my butt to work
See you all at lunch!

What a great birthday experience you guys had. NICE!! I have never been to a melting pot. I have wanted to go but I know it is kind of pricey so I have avoided it. I loved your re-cap and now I see what it is really like and it might just be worth the money splurge.
Ooooooooooh I love the Melting Pot, I’ve been there twice, but I haven’t been in two years, I need to go ASAP. The last time I went we were running late for a play and didn’t get to have dessert. It was so sad!
I LOVE the Melting Pot! My hubby never wants to go because he says he doesn’t want to cook his own food…lol.
live near one but never been, for the same reason, cost. Perhaps I will request it for my birthday next year!
Mmm I’ve never been but it sounds good! Chocolate peanut butter fondue would be a fast favorite of mine
I have never been to the Melting Pot but it looks GOOD!!! What a great night! Happy Birthday Matt!!! Love you guys!
I’ve been to the Melting Pot with a group of people before- the cheese is my favorite part!
I wasn’t a fan of cooking the meat myself, though. It weirded me out. But that’s just my opinion.
I’d go back to do just a cheese and chocolate combo though!
I love The Melting Pot. It is such a fun food experience! Glad you had a good night!
I haven’t been to the Melting Pot since my 18th birthday. That was a while ago.
AWww the Melting Pot is one of my favorite places on this earth. My hubby and I celebrated our 5 year here and we fell in love. The whole dinner took over 3 hours an it was just incredible!!!! I will never forget it.
And SOOOOOO glad you made room for dessert. By far, the very very best part of the entire dinner! Amazing!
Glad it was such a good day for you guys.
It looks like you had a fantastic time out and that meal looks wonderful!!!!
I think you’ve totally inspired me to make something Swiss for dinner too! I think maybe we’ll do raclette and a chocolate fondue! Yummers!
I love the Melting Pot – the cheese and chocolate fondues are my favorite!
Glad Hubby enjoyed his birthday!
Hey Bobbi!
I’ve never been there, but heard great things about the Melting Pot. My hubby’s birthday is coming up….would you suggest going to the Melting Pot with a group of people, or does it work just as well with 2? I couldn’t tell by your pictures if they serve the food family style or not.
Thanks!
We went for our one year anniversary and LOVED it! It is definitely a splurge, but worth it. If you get on the email list, they send you a coupon for your anniversary / bday / etc. Plus they have fun themed nights like 80s girls night. hahahaha Glad you had such a nice bday!
Obviously I meant bday celebration for Matt – I know it’s not your bday! hahaha
I have been to the Melting Pot twice before and just ate dessert each time. I don’t know if I’d be a huge cheese fondue lover but it’d be fun to try. Looks like y’all had a great date and birthday celebration.
We’ve never done the melting pot, mostly because well…we just didn’t want to spend the money!
Glad you had a great night.
They have a Melting Pot in my hometown!! I’ve been dying to go and I think this post gives me reason enough next time I visit my parents.
What a fun birthday dinner for hubby!! I love the Melting Pot and have never had a bad experience there.
I want your flashing earrings!
That looks like so much fun! I’ve never done the Melting Pot before but it looks like quite the experience.
chocolate peanut butter fondue!? whaT?! sounds delish.
Looks like fun! Happy Birthday to your Hubby!
I took my mom to Melting Mot for her birthday this year. We had a fantastic time. It was fun and the food was pretty good.
I just went to the Melting Pot last Saturday for my 21st birthday…I love it! This was my second year celebrating my bday there…its just a fun place
I hope you enjoyed it!
