My Summer Reading List

This summer I have been reading some really great and challenging books. I gave up watching television at night in May and that has been HUGE for me to get back into reading! I really love to read, but wasn’t finding the energy or the will power to dive in. Watching mindless TV (which is nice sometimes) sounded much better. For some reason every summer I get on a reading kick and crave a god book.

Here are five new books for you to dig in the summer/fall (depending on how fast you read). I have read or am reading all five of these books and I highly recommend.

#1. The Best Yes by Lysa Terkurst: Making wise decisions in the midst of endless demands. Sometimes we have a lot of good yes’s and this book as well as scripture really helped me to decipher the BEST YES!

#2. Radical by David Platt : You have heard be talk a lot about this book. It has really messed me up this summer in an amazing way! Nothing like being truly challenged in your faith and daily life.

#3. Let’s All Be Brave by Annie F. Downs: Such a great read on living  life with everything you have!

#4. Made to Crave by Lisa Turkerst: Since reading this book, my outlook on how I see food has changed so much. Eating for nourishment and eating food for what it was meant for! Also shows you that you were truly made for more.

#5. More or Less by Jeff Shinnabarger: Choosing a lifestyle of excessive generosity! I haven’t started this one, but I have heard amazing things about it and I can’t wait to jump in.

Question: Is there a book you’re reading that you love?  I’d love to hear about it!

“Made to Crave” has changed my life! Also devoting mornings to “God’s Heart for You” by Holley Gerth.

  2. I just bought Radical and I cannot wait to read it!! Prayer by Tim Keller is on my summer reading list. I love his books, especially Meaning of Marriage!
