5:30am// Alarm goes off and I so want to stay in bed, but I crawl out of bed and splash some water on my face to wake myself up! Then head to the kitchen, kiss hubby (he’s been up for hours) and put the kettle (well the pot cause I can’t find my kettle, lost it in the move) and boil some water for my french press coffee.
5:30-6:00am// Try my hardest to spend time in God’s word and read a few devotionals. A lot of times I am so tired I have to just sit and pray. I am not sure when this will get easier. A few of my favorite devotional apps are SheReadsTruth and the IF Gathering. They are free and wonderful! I also love the apps by Paul Tripp and Jesus Calling.
6:00am//Get my green monster ready in the vitamix, but I don’t make it yet because it’s loud and I don’t want to wake RJ quite yet. Or make two eggs, bacon with some avocado. Â Set our lunch boxes out and put our bags next to the door.
6:15am// Put on a podcast while I get ready. Put some make up on. I have fallen in love with a few new products and I will save a whole other post. Throw in some dry shampoo, curl my hair and then get dressed. Any awesome podcasts you love?????Â
6:45am// Go wake up RJ and get help her get dressed and ready for the day. Some days I just transfer into the car and let her sleep a little longer on our commute. Girl needs like 15 hours of sleep!
6:50am// Blend my smoothie, grab Rj’s breakfast, load up the car and head out! Hubby is great at helping us get out on time, I am blessed he doesn’t head out earlier than we do.
7:00am// Out the door! RJ and I will listen to a bible story app on the way to school or put some jams on. If she’s asleep I listen to another podcast. Or listen to a Vox from a friend, Voxer is the best! I actually have fallen in love with our morning commute. I know, crazy!
7:45am// Arrive at school. Our drive is only 25 minutes, but TRAFFIC makes it longer.
8:00-3:00pm// School Day with Rylee-Joy and kiddos! P.S. These are her school pics, ummmmm when did she get so big! Hubby said I can’t curl hair ever again…oh is he in for some fun as a dad to a beautiful girl.
3:15pm// Head to the gym. Some days we get out a little later, but I try and leave as soon as we can so we don’t hit any traffic.
3:45pm// Get to the gym, drop off RJ at they gym childcare, and change. Sometimes I just do a light workout at home. RJ loves to nap after school and this mamma doesn’t wake up a sleeping child if she doesn’t have to!
4:00-4:45pm// Get my workout on! I have been doing a lot of HIIT workouts and free weights. Somedays I am so tired, I will just walk on the “dreadmill” Â and listen to the RevWell podcast.
5pm// Get home and start dinner. RJ will run to her play room and play solo till Daddy get’s home. While she plays and dinner cooks I hop in the shower.
5:45pm// Dad’s HOME!! We all greet him with lots of hugs:) He changes and then plays with RJ until dinner is ready.
6:15pm// Eat dinner as a family as much as we can. I love making recipes with all kinds of yummy ingredients, but let’s be real we eat a lot of the same healthy dinners. Somedays Matt has school or we have an event but most nights we try and eat together. I love FRIDAYS, because we go out for a family date night, Â it’s my favorite part of the week! Can’t wait for it get to nice out so we can start going on evening hikes!
6:45pm// RJ gets screen time and hubby and I catch up about our day.
7:30pm// Matt gives RJ a bath and starts the bedtime routine. I clean up the kitchen and get lunches ready for the next day while watching Parenthood (yep I am re-watching it and it’s just as good) or listening to another podcast. As you can see I am loving podcasts these days.
8pm// RJ is down! But probably not asleep. Hubby most likely doing homework for his MBA program and I will sit down next to him and scroll through Pinterest, Blogs, and or Social Media. Â I would like to say that I read a book, but my mind is going all day that I need to zone out for a bit. I am reading Crazy Love right now and loving it!
9:30pm// Brush my teeth, put on some lavender essential oil and grab a book for a bit before I fall asleep. I am trying to be intentional about not having my phone near my at night, I even bought a REAL alarm clock!
10:00pm// LIGHTS OUT!!! I have been really bad about this and it’s more like at 11pm, but I NEED to stop that. 6 hours of sleep just isn’t enough.
This is ever changing and we are tweaking and perfecting our rhythm daily!
Question: What does your night time routine look like? How do you make sure you are getting some down time?Â
Also I would love to hear what kinds of posts you would like to see from me? More fitness, lifestyle, faith, family and/or recipes?Â

It has been almost 6 months since I have done a “Day in the Life Of†post and they are one of my most favorite posts to write. Our lives look quite different (in a good way) here in Arizona. If you have been following for a while you know that one of the biggest reasons we moved to Arizona was because we wanted more US and less HUSTLE and we are getting there. Can you believe RJ is almost 3 and half?! I sure can’t! I love, love, love this stage.
Alright so here is a typical (about to get real) what a day looks like!
6:30am-7:00am//Â I smell the coffee pot brewing down stairs and I climb out of my warm cozy bed and head downstairs to pour myself a cup and have some sweet sweet time alone with Jesus. I have been going through the Beatitudes devotional with She Reads Truth and it is reminding me of what our calling as Christians is.
7:30am//RJ wakes up and comes down stairs, jumps in my laps and asks me to snuggle. BEST BEST part of the day. I love that she is such a happy girl when she first rises. I then make her breakfast, eggs, waffles and blueberries or oats and nut butter. Sometimes she gets cereal when we are on a time crunch. I make my eggs and avocado sammie and we eat at the table and wait for Daddy to give us kisses goodbye for the day. He is not a breakfast eater.
9 am//Â We start to get ready for the day and get in the car to head to the gym. We found a gym out here that we both love. The classes are so fun and RJ loves the childcare. I normally do weights, a run (listening to the Revelation Wellness Podcast), or spin class for an hour. Sometimes I take other fun classes like POUND or ZUMBA. The variety is awesome. We also go to a Revaluation Wellness Bootcamp once a week around the same time.
10:30am// If were not headed home right after the gym we are running an errand to the grocery store, park play date, library or a fun outing to seek adventure. There is so many fun things to do with kids here in Arizona, even the mall has a wonderful indoor playground that RJ could play at for hours.
12:30pm// Head home for lunch. I usually make a salad for me and RJ gets a plate of veggies, fruit and something with cheese. She is not a picky eater at all and I am blessed for that, that is for sure! Then she plays outside for a bit. UM THE WEATHER HERE IS AMAZING!!!! (yes I am yelling)
1:30pm // QUIET TIMEÂ If RJ isn’t going to nap, this is a solid 1.5 hours of RJ playing quietly in her room or play room while I catch up on blogging, chores, or sit and read. I need this time to recover from the busy morning and it’s great independent play time for RJ.
3pm//Â PLAY PLAY PLAY! RJ and I play everything from dress up to tea parties with her princesses. We also love games, puzzles, painting and reading. I love this age, because there is so much we can do togther. It’s tiring in the best kind of way.
4:30pm// We start to make dinner, if RJ is not in the mood to help (it’s hit and miss) this is her screen time. She gets to pick an episode of her favorite Disney Junior show (Sophia the first or Alannah of Avalor) while I work on getting dinner ready.
5:30pm// Dinner is on the table and DADDY IS HOME!!!! I love it when he gets home and RJ wants to always hide from him and surprise him. I am pretty sure it’s the highlight of his day as well. She will pop out and say surprise and then run and kiss him.
6pm//Â We eat at the table. This is is big for us! We use to want to do this all the time, but with me teaching at night and a toddler that would struggle to sit with us at the table it just didn’t happen as much as we would have liked. Now we only have one night where we don’t eat together and that’s when Hubby plays softball, which I love!
7pm//Â Hubby and RJ play while I clean up the kitchen and relax a bit. I may or may not secretly love doing dishes quietly in the kitchen with my iPad on catching up on Podcasts
7:30pm//Â RJ gets a bath, we take turns on who does the night time routine. That way we each get a little down time as well as the snuggles with our sweet girl. After bath, we read RJ a book, sing her Jesus Loves Me, pray, and then lights out between 8 and 8:30pm.
8:30pm// Hubby and I watch our new favorite show together Black List and have US time!
10:30pm// Lights OUT! I need a good 8 hours of sleep to full function….plus I HATE setting ALARM! I haven’t set one in 3.5 years, RJ is my alarm and I hope it stays that way for a while.
Well that is our day in a nut shell, minus a few potty breaks, snacks and time-outs I am sure.
Question: What is your normal bed time?Â
]]>
It has been almost 6 months since I have done a “Day in the Life Of” post and they are one of my most favorite posts to write. Every day never looks the same, but we do have a lot of routines that are the same. So I am gonna pick a Monday and go with it! Can you believe RJ is 2 and 9 months?! Where oh where does time go?
If you follow me on SNAPCHAT (username:nhershoes)Â you kind of get a taste of our fun filled days! I took a seasonal job at Forest Home this summer, my old work place and I am loving it! It was challenging at first trying to juggle at home. But now it has gotten a bit easier now that camp has begun.
Alright so here is a typical (about to get real) what a day looks like!
2:00am// I get a tap on my shoulder from RJ saying (literally at 2am every morning), “Mama I want to sleep with you”. So I grab her put her in bed and crash. Cause she is only little once and this mama needs her sleep!
6:30am-7:00am//I wake up and see RJ in bed with us and think to myself, “How did she get there?”. Oh well, I slide out of bed careful not to wake her and head to the kitchen where I see Hubby in the living room already up early working away. I make myself a glass of SPARK and then take my supplements. I sit on my chair and have my quiet time some days and other I just try and check up on anything for the SHREDs.
7:00am//RJ wakes up and runs out of our room and snuggles with me! It’s my favorite part of the day. I then make her breakfast, an egg, waffle, and strawberries. I make myself a green monster or 2 eggs, a waffle and avocado (it’s my favorite thing right now). RJ eats her breakfast while watching Disney Junior and I get ready for bootcamp at my house.

7:45am// My ladies come over for a HOT BOBBBI bootcamp session, but they are happy to get it done before the real heat comes! Some days I do it with them (not on Monday’s) Â and somedays I just yell at them
I normally do these at 3:30pm in the fall and spring, but with summer here we had to move them to the mornings.
8:30am//Pack up the car and get RJ dressed for camp for the morning. We head out about 8:45 and it’s a quick drive up the hill.
9:15am//Check RJ in to her class at camp, where she learns all kinds of amazing things about Jesus, plays, and sings songs! She loves it!
9:15-12:15pm// I work at my desk. I am the CCA registrar this summer, which basically means I answer a lot of parent emails and voicemails. The best part of my job is interacting with the summer staff and getting to be a part of their family!
12:15pm// Pick up RJ and head up to lunch. We eat lunch at Forest Home with the summer staffers, a perk of the job!
12:45pm-2:30pm// We head back to my office and change into our swimsuits for the pool and splash pad fun!
2:30pm// We head home because RJ desperately needs a nap.
3:00pm// We arrive home and I transfer RJ to her bed where she naps for about an hour. I sometimes stare at the wall for 15 minutes (no for reals), eat a snack, and then start working on NHS stuff. Sometimes blogging… like right now, personal training, Shred stuff, or I clean.
4:00pm// RJ wakes up and plays in her kitchen, paints, or we do puzzles. I need to buy more puzzles her poor puzzles are always missing pieces. She has a small snack and I start making dinner.
5:00pm// Dinner is ready for RJ and Hubby while I head out to do my workout for the day at Crossfit. Hubby get’s home between 5 and 5:30 and I give him a kiss and head out.
5:30pm-7:30pm// I do the Crossfit workout first and then teach an hour of TRX. I teach TRX 4 days a week, so I don’t normally do it everyday with them. This is only on Monday nights and Wednesday nights. I try and do two days of Spin, TRX and two days of Crossfit. I get at least one run in and sometimes a kickboxing class. My focus these days is just to workout everyday and not focus on numbers!

7:30pm// I arrive home (the gym is 4 minutes from my house) and eat dinner with Hubby. He waits to eat with me cause he is amazing! We eat and catch up on the day while RJ get’s in one more hour of “technology time”, girlfriend could watch the Ipad all day! We really have to limit her!
8:15pm// BATH TIME for RJ. Â Hubby gets her all clean and ready for bed.
8:45pm// I read RJ her bedtime story, sing to her, pray with her and then say goodnight. She wines for a minute and then PASSES out!
9:00pm// I head back up to camp (this in only on Monday’s) and teach a DANCE glow in the dark class for family camp! It is one of my highlights of the week. We do some dancing and pounding with drumsticks! I did this last year and it is so fun!
10:30pm// I arrive home and take a MUCH needed shower!!! Hubby is usually passed out and I am wide awake! So I stay up checking social media, reading, or playing on Pinterest. Most nights though we are so tired we watch a little TV and are out by 10:30pm.
11:30pm//LIGHTS OUT!
P.S. I know that seems like a lot of workouts, but I only do one of them and the dancing:) The rest I am teaching. Could you imagine?!Â
SIDE NOTE—> A full recap of our time at Wolf Lodge coming to ya on FRIDAY!!!
]]>
It has been way too long since I did a “Day in the Life Of” post and I had request for one from a reader. I love when readers request things, it gives me some motivation to get a blog post up! If you follow me on SNAPCHAT (username:nhershoes)Â you kind of get a taste of our fun filled days
Since Christmas it has been nothing but work, travel, work, travel and more work. Excited to get back to our normal schedule.
Our days are all a bit different, but for the most part pretty routine and planned due to RJ still (thank goodness) taking a naps everyday. I am kind of a nap Natzi!
6:00am // RISE AND SHINE//
I used to get up a lot earlier, but now RJ is sleeping until about 7am! I am really trying to savor our slow mornings together. I try and let my body just wake me up naturally which is about 6-6:30am. I usually lay in bed and catch up on social media and texts, but I am trying to break that habit! Get up and have some quiet time with the Lord before the house wakes up. I also make RJ her breakfast before she get’s up because she can’t stand her food too warm.
7:00 – 8:00am // RJ IS UP & BREAKFAST//
RJ is officially in a toddler bed! We wouldn’t have moved her so soon, but she wasn’t loving her crib anymore. She wasn’t sleeping through the night and we were at our whits end to figure out what was causing her to wake up SCREAMING! Our friends told us how the toddler helped their daughter, so we were on it! She LOVES her bed and although it has been a bit of an adjustment, it has been a great one. So when she wakes up now, she just comes right out to the living room on her own.
8:00Â – 8:30am // READY//
I get RJ and I dressed for the day, make beds, and clean up morning breakfast mess. I try and lay out RJ’s clothes every night and have her bag packed for the day. Makes life so much easier! I also try and clean up the kitchen before we head out for the day (emphasis on the word TRY).
9:00 – 10:30am // GYM //
Mamma gets her sweat on while RJ gets to play with friends. I think RJ likes going to the gym more than I do. I have been going to a crossfit gym a couple times a week, the YMCA gym for SPIN, and there is always my favorite workout and that’s a run!
10:30 – 11:30am // PARK OR GYMNASTICS//
RJ loves the park so most days we go right after the gym, or we will go to a local gymnastic gym that has free play for $10 for 3 full hours, and sometimes we meet up with friends for coffee dates at our favorite joint.
12:00 – 12:30pm // LUNCH //Â
If I know we are going to be out, I try and pack a lunch (PB sandwich for RJ, apple, and carrots). My girl is simple and she will eat just about anything, but she doesn’t eat a lot. So a few nibbles into the sandwich she is done and if I can get her to eat 3 carrots I am happy!
12:30 – 2:30pm // NAP TIME //
RJ goes down for a nap and Mama eats lunch while watching a bit of Gilmore Girls or Parent Hood. I have been on a salad and soup kick. Then I take a shower and do some laundry while I catch up on emails, Shred questions, Refresh Summit details, and bootcamp programing.
3:30-4:30 // BOOTCAMPÂ //
I have started hosting a Women’s bootcamp at my house in the afternoons and it has been a lot of fun! Everyone brings their kids and they all play together. RJ for the most time will play with the other kids, but sometimes she wants to be right by Mamma’s side the whole time.
4:30 – 5:30pm // DAD’S HOME //
Dad’s home and I start prepping dinner. We try and eat at home 5-6 nights out of the week. It’s nothing too fancy, we have a meal plan that is very similar in what kind of food we eat. Monday’s are Italian, Tuesdays Mexican, Wednesdays are leftovers, Thursday’s we have group, Friday’s build your own pizza night…and so on. We do the crockpot a lot! While I cook RJ plays in her kitchen and pretends like she is making dinner for us.
5:30 – 6:30pm // DINNER //
My favorite time of the day. We gather around the table (I am big on this) every night, except the weekends. We talk about our days, watch RJ make funny faces, and have adult conversations after RJ is ready to be dismissed from the table.
6:30-7:30pm // CLEAN UP AND PLAYÂ //
I usually clean up the kitchen and pick up around the house will RJ and Daddy play or watch a movie together. Sometimes I say forget cleaning up (happens a lot) and join in on their time! One of our favorite things to do together is put on the Frozen soundtrack and dance and sing the night away!! We turn the lights of and use flashlights as our microphones,
7:30 – 9:00pm //BED TIME ROUTINE //
If we are not at Tuesday night community group or Thursday night friends dinner, we are giving RJ a bath (while the other relaxes a bit), reading her a story or two, brushing teeth, and singing her a song. Then, off to bed she goes. Sometimes she cries for about 10 minutes and then she passes out or one of us has to lay in bed with her until she is out.
9:00pm // DOWNTIME //
I am usually reading a new book, watching Friends, or Pinning things on Pinterest for potty training or activities to do with RJ. Hubby loves to play PS4 it helps him wined down from the day. Sometimes we watch a show together or we even like board games on occasion. We are late owls and stay up sometimes till 11pm. We are kinda of used to the little sleep. We also try and do date night once a week and have great sitters (aka family).
Question: What is your favorite time to wake up in the morning?Â
]]>
The last time I did one of these post’s was back in August, right before RJ turned one. GOODNESS have things changed around here! I’m learning daily how to juggle being a wife, a mom, a business woman and a friend. Let me just be the first to tell you, that there are days that I go without a shower, never finish my first cup of coffee, have mismatch socks on (this happened today), forget to get milk at the store when that is the only thing I went in for… the list goes on… I AM SO FAR FROM BEING PERFECT!
5:00am // RISE AND SHINE//
I look at the clock, the monitor screen and baby girl is still out! That means I get a little quiet time in the morning or I head out to teach TRX. I love getting up slowly, making some coffee and reading a book, recently The Best Yes, which has been rockin my world! I also answer emails and catch up on my social media.
6:30 – 8:00am // RJ IS UP & BREAKFAST//
I love our mornings together most days, very slow and in our jammies. Â RJ has about an 8 ounce bottle of milk (she’s off formula). Now I would like to tell you that were doing something super fun and educational, but nope in all reality we might be watching Disney Jr. or The Today Show while we enjoy breakfast. RJ eats anything I eat, she just takes a lot longer. She doesn’t want me to feed her, so it’s me putting a scoop of oatmeal on a spoon and letting her feed herself. Repeat.
8:00Â – 9:00am // MORNING WALK WITH BOSCO //
RJ still takes her morning nap most mornings. She will definitely go down when we go on our walk with Bosco. We walk about 3 easy miles and then head back home to get ready for the gym. I catch up on more comments, emails, phone calls, texts and IG while we walk.
9:00 – 10:30am // GYM //
I love that we go to a gym where RJ loves the childcare. She always gets excited to play with friends and has such a great time. I, too, have a great time getting my bootie kicked in SPIN class or doing some weights. After class, I take a shower and then we head out.
10:30 – 11:30am // PARK //
We get out to the park everyday! I love watching RJ learn and explore on all the play equipment and I am also blessed to have a lot of friends that are stay-at-home moms and they bring their kiddos and we catch up on life.
12:00 – 12:30pm // LUNCH //Â
If it’s not at the park, we enjoy something thrown together at home. Right now, it has been peanut butter sandwiches, string cheese chicken sausage and peas. I am having a hard time making sure that RJ eats a lot of greens, unless she has a smoothie. It’s more me needing to prep than anything else. I am just lucky if I get her to have 10 peas!
12:30 – 2:30pm // NAP TIME //
I would love to say that RJ takes a two hour nap (rarely), we have a great night time sleeper, but afternoon naps are anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour if we are lucky! I know I could try and cut out her morning nap, we tried that and it didn’t work. So whatever time I do get alone I usually pick up the house, blog (like I am doing now), or catch up on Shred stuff.
2:30 – 4:30pm // PLAY TIME + AFTERNOON WALK //
I am trying to find more hands-on fun things that RJ can do, like finger painting, motor skills, signing, scenery stuff… but man, I need to get with it! I pin like a million things on Pinterest, but I have yet to really do too many of them. We also take Bosco for an afternoon walk, a lot shorter than our morning walk, but it’s always nice to get out one more time.
In there we have a snack, which right now happens on the kitchen floor. We enjoy apple slices, meat and cheese
(with our tiaras on of course).
4:30 – 5:30pm // DAD’S HOME //
Most days Hubby is home by 5pm and I am trying to figure out what’s for dinner, but lately I have been using the crockpot so I don’t even have to think about anything, except what’s on the side. We eat a lot earlier these days and I kind of like it. While Dad plays with RJ, I try and freshin’ up… take my nail polish off… breathe for just two seconds…
5:30 – 6:30pm // DINNER //
Would love to say that we all sit around the dinner table and have a wonderful peaceful meal together, but I would be lying! RJ hates her high chair. She sits in it for like 3-4 minutes throws her food on the floor and most of the time ends up on one of our laps while we try and make sure she gets some kind of dinner in her. She then scoots all over the house while we try and eat. This is a process.
6:30 – 7:30pm // BED TIME ROUTINE //
If we are not at Tuesday night community group or Thursday night friends dinner, we are giving RJ a bath (while the other does the dishes), reading her a story or two, brushing teeth, feeding RJ her last milk bottle of the day (8 more ounces), and singing her a song. Then, off to bed she goes. Sometimes she cries for about 2 minutes and then she passes out. Other times longer and we have to be patient and then she conks out!
7:30 – 9:00pm // WORK //
We both sit our booties on the couch and exhale… The Hubby and I catch up on our days and then normally we both have to get work done. He has side business and I have my Shreds, Refresh Summit, Refresh Attire and Bloggy stuff to work on. By 9:00pm we are both spent (in a good way). If we don’ t have energy to work, we play a game, watch a movie or just relax. Once a week we do get away and have a fun date night (but those will be few and far these next two months).
9:00pm // BED TIME //
Yep, were that old couple… lol… we get into bed by 9:00pm and probably fall asleep by 9:30pm at the latest (it’s the secret to being a morning person). Wouldn’t it be nice to say I read, rarely happens.
As you can see it’s quite the fun juggling act, but I love it! When the weekends roll around and Hubby is home, he is such a huge help! I don’t ever want him to go back to work on Monday’s.
It’s not a perfect schedule and it won’t ever be, but it works for us..for this season.
Question: What is your bed time?
]]>
Is it perfect? Does it always go like planned? NO! However, it has been a life saver for me to be able to lay things out so I can have a little bit of an idea of what the day will hold. I know I love reading these posts about other bloggers… it’s always fun to see what the day looks like (snoop).
6:30 – 7:30am // RJ WAKES UP //
She is our alarm clock! She recently has been waking up between 7 and 7:30am (no more 5:45am!). I still get up early, pour my cup of Joe and do my morning Bible reading and prayer. If RJ wakes up before me, she joins me while enjoying her first bottle.
7:30 – 8:00am // BREAKFAST //
It always changes… some mornings I make a Green Monster, other days Love Grown Oats, maybe Eggs and Cereal, or Chobani yogurt with granola. It all depends on what mood I am in. RJ always eats a little bit of everything I enjoy as well as her banana.
8:30 – 10:30am // GYM //
Pack up and head to the GYM! I have found that the 9:15am Spin and Body Pump classes work best for us.
RJ is in a great mood during this time. She loves the childcare at the Y and I get in a great hour sweat then it’s out the door before her morning nap. I also have been riding my bike twice a week and doing a kickboxing / TRX class on Saturdays.
10:30am – 12:00pm // RJ NAPS or ERRANDS //
I either get some work done on the computer or around the house if RJ takes a nap. This week and next I’ll be working on stuff for RJ’s first birthday party!
If RJ doesn’t take a nap, we get to run errands like grocery shopping, post office trips and other random adventures.
…or she plays in the play room while I work.
12:00 – 1:00pm // LUNCH TIME //
I have been enjoying every bit of kale that I can get fresh from our garden. We normally eat some kind of protein, a whole grain, veggies and an avocado.
RJ pretty much eats what I eat at almost every meal. I do have to give her more green veggies in puree form because she has a hard time chewing kale. She does love peas, green beans and snap peas!
1:30 – 2:30pm // WALK and PARK //
We walk to the park (about two miles from our house) and chill for a while and then head home. This is also where I can catch up with clients, my Shred groups, emails and phone calls.
RJ loves to just sit and chill in the shade and watch the other kiddos play. I can’t wait till she can slide on her own!
2:30 – 4:00pm // SECOND NAP //
On a good day, RJ naps and sometimes for a lot longer. This is where I do my daily chores… dishes, bathrooms, vacuum, mop, sweep, dust, or sometimes I just blog (which is what I am doing now)… but if no nap, then we play
4:00 – 5:00pm // REST, BREATHE & SHOWER //
5:00 – 6:00pm // DINNER //
Hubby comes home and I start dinner while they play. These days I try and keep dinner as simple as possible. Lots of chicken tacos, turkey spaghetti, chicken and sweet potatoes, homemade pizza and other simple, but filling, meals. I also do try and make one new recipe a week… to mix it up
6:00 – 7:00pm // BED TIME ROUTINE //
Bath time while one of us cleans up dinner, read a book, sing a song, pray a prayer and then down to bed (some nights later than others).
7:00 – 9:00pm // MAMA & DADA WORKS //
Now that I have my ‘home office,’ no more coffee shop trips for me. I just turn on the music and light a candle and work away. Some nights we have small group and dinner plans so this doesn’t always happen, but some nights.
Once a week, I put on my REALÂ clothes and Hubby and I get go out for date night!
9:00pm til…Â // THE 9:00PM RULE //
We also have a 9:00RM RULE! What’s that? All phones OFF… electronics OFF… and just “us” time.
We haven’t been so great at this lately, but we’re bringing it back!
We normally hit the hay between 10:00-11:00pm and the weekends are a whole different ball game!
Question: Do you thrive on routine or do you love just living day-by-day?Â

t done a day in the life of post since RJ, so I thought I would kick off this Friday with a little fun!
4:30am : The alarm goes off and I wonder why am I choosing to get up this early?!
4:30-4:40am: Scroll through social media to get some motivation to get my sweat on!
4:45am-5:15am: Get up, get dressed, make a cup of coffee, have a piece of toast and almond butter and do my She Reads Truth devotional.
5:15am: Drive to Redlands to meet Susie and Vanessa for a run.
6:30am: Stretch and head back home. I may grab some Starbucks if I really need it. ![]()
7am: Get home take a quick shower before baby girl wakes up. (Well, she probably has already been up once so Hubby feeds her and puts her back down.) Try and plan out the day, and catch up emails and text messages.
7:30am: BABY girls wakes up. Say good morning to RJ. We snuggle a bit and I feed her her second bottle.
8am-8:30am: Change and Breakfast time for RJ and me. We share a green smoothie or oatmeal most mornings.
8:30am: We have been enjoying the porch most mornings as the weather has been perfect. We ride around on her bike, play with toys, roll around on the ground, sing songs, and dance.
When her rooms a mess we play in there. She plays in her crib while I clean up.
9:30am: RJ gets her second bottle and she goes down for her morning nap (most mornings).
9:30am-11:30am: Nap time means MOM’s work time! That is the time I catch up all emails, work on Shred stuff, make calls, blog, work on the Refresh Summit, and clean. I have been taking my office outside and it has been glorious. Getting out of the house helps me not be distracted!
11:00am: RJ wakes up we get dressed for the day and run some errands, head to the park, or meet with a friend for lunch! I have to get out of the house at least once a day!
12:30: If we are not out, I normally make a big sexy salad and RJ has a bottle and some other food like sweet potatoes or peas. She has tried everything and really loves sweet potatoes.
1:30-3:30- Pretty much free game! It all depends if we are still out enjoying the outdoors or playing at the house. I am really loving this stage! She isnâ€
t mobile yet so we have a a lot of floor time and tummy time.
3:30: No matter where we are, I always try to get home for RJâ€
s afternoon nap (TRY). I give her another bottle and most days she will go right down. This nap is not as long as her morning nap. For me this time is where I try and pick up the house a bit, do my daily chore, and sometimes just sit and watch some of the Cooking Channel (true story).
4:30: Because baby girl may only take an hour nap if I am lucky! When she wakes up, we do another changing. (I am sure there have been about 2 other diaper changes in between and a blow out here and there.)
5pm: DAD comes home!!!!!! I brush my teeth finally. ![]()
5:30: Time to make dinner unless itâ€
s Thursday night. RJ just loves to help!
6:30pm: Dinner on the patio. RJ likes to join us on the table! We usually feed her before we start eating or while we are eating. Eating real food has been a fun little challenge.
7:00pm: BATH time!!!! (Every other night.) We take turns, but I always sneak in there because I just love seeing her play in the water.
7:30pm: Hubby or I read RJ a book or two and put her to bed. The other one is usually cleaning up the kitchen.
8pm: We kick up our feet, enjoy some tea (or wine), dark chocolate, and a little tube. I wish I could say I read…but by 8pm all I want to do is sit and not really think.
We typically go to bed between 9-10pm!
Well, this is a good day.Â
You should see the bloopers!
