]]>Ladies,
Hubs here. Bobbi has asked me to be a little more involved with her blog by having a post every blue moon. Now, my post won’t be anything fancy, healthy or cutesy. It will be more practical How-To’s, tips, things I have to say and random tidbits about guys. So without further ado…

Now… if your man is sporty and/or outdoorsy (like myself), there will be some ideas on here that will get you extra credit points, but let’s start off with the basics:
THE BASICS:
1) SOCKS:
If he is trying to get into cycling, running, basketball, auto repair, accounting, nursing, Marco Poloing… there is a sock for it. And a week later, go into his sock drawer and trash the 3 pairs of socks with holes in it. He won’t notice.
2) BOXERS/UNDERWEAR:
Guys will wear boxers with holes in it. Use #1 for reference.
3) SOAP:
Depending on the guy, you can get a funny gift like Soap-On-A-Rope or if you want to have your man smelling good, you can get him a year’s supply when you do the “Buy 3 Get 3 Free” at Bath & Body Works.
4) LOOFAH:
Again, guys tend not to get new things unless duct tape fails. Save him the public shame in buying a loofah at the grocery store and get him a nice one… Yearly!
5) COLOGNE:
Depending on the men, you might want to get some traditional cologne or try something new like using the Axe’s Body Spray.
6) GUM:
Who doesn’t like gum? A Mega Pack? Gum for Days!
7) CANDY:
Just know that it will be gone by December 26th.
8) DVD:
What is the “man movie” from 2013 that you know he will watch again and again and again… and ask for you to watch it with him? Was it The Wolverine? 2 Guns? 42? World War Z… Just kidding, don’t get World War Z no matter how much you like to look at Brad Pitt.
OK… those were some softball tosses. Here’s the next step…
THE BASICS PLUS:
9) THE POCKET REF (4th Ed):Â MUST HAVE!
The paperback version – It’s a man’s brain written shorthand with all of the needed guy information. You’ll thank me!
10) LOTTERY SCRATCHER TICKETS: (if your state/country allows it)
Not those cheap $1 ones. Get him a couple of $3 – $5 tickets… maybe a $10. I rather have a couple of higher stake ones than 10 of those $1 tickets.
11) KNIFE:
Be unique. Maybe this year it is a Swiss Army Knife to replace the one he didn’t know he had when going through the security line at the airport. Maybe it is a meat filleting knife. Or a Xacto Kit. Or the typical Exclusive Secret Agent Tactical Ninja Sword… you know, just in case. Change it up every year!
12) CIGAR:
If he’s the kind of guy that likes to smoke a cigar with the guys, get him a nice one… or two so he can share. *Note* Unless he has a humidor, wait until Christmas Eve or Christmas Eve’s Eve to get it. $10 – $15 each will do.
13) WHISKEY STONES:
No, these are not kidney stones from those long nights of drinking whiskey. They are stones that you chill and then put into drinks to cool down the drink without the melted ice water later. There are different forms of these. One Form. Another Form.
THE NEXT LEVEL:
Here are items that might be for the sporty/outdoorsy guy…
14) ZIPPO:
Because you never know when you need it.
15) SPORT TEAM MEMORABILIA:
A St. Louis Cardinals patch, stickers, license plate frame, bobbleheads, key chain… sure!
16) GLOVES:
This could be new Rawhide Leather Work Gloves or light Casual Gloves to out of the house with.
17) GOLF TEES:
Get the 3 1/4″ tees like these. Don’t get golf balls. Some men are particular, but if they aren’t particular… A cheap gift that I have purchased are slightly used bulk golf balls. Check out eBay for these things.
18) BEANIE:
It can be a workout beanie (or skullcap) or stylish one.
19) CHURCH KEY:
It’s just cool looking! HERE.
ODD-N-ENDS:
These aren’t for most guys, but maybe you want to get something random. Try these:
20)Â Farkas Eye Black
21)Â Chocolate Bacon Bar
22) A Fun Coffee Mug
23)Â Baseball Cap Water & Sweat Repellant
24)Â Stormproof Matches
25)Â Bacon Flavored Toothpicks
Hope this was useful for you ladies. Maybe I should make a list of things that guys should get women so you can send the link to your man. What do you think?
]]>I have been thinking a lot about what gifts that I want to give this year to friends and family. Yes, I am the girl who is crazy and loves going Black Friday shopping (I KNOW NUTZO). I love blasting my Christmas music in my car, wear my cozies, drink my first peppermint mocha, enjoy taking my TIME through different stores and not worry about the rush! I also love the shopping time with my girlfriends.
Aside from maybe grabbing a few things on Black Friday in stores, I got most of my gifts this year from small businesses on Saturday! Here are just a few of my favorites:
2. Refresh Attire (I had to give us a plug) Open and ready to SHIP!
3. Reverent Creations: The cutest necklaces with TRUTH!
4. MegNCreations: These cute coffee cozies! Megan has all kinds of designs and colors!
5. Â She Does Justice: A stylish way to give back!
10. Ollie and Bear
These have changed my life. I ordered the started kit and LOVE it! We have been swearing away our almost sickness with Thieves and RC like crazy! Seriously one of the best gifts you could ask for!
12. The Happiness Seeker ( closed until January but a great place to shop)
13. She Reads Truth Cause how cute are these mugs?
Question: What are you favorite small businesses?Â

]]>When RJ get’s a little older (most likely next year) we are going to do the four gift tradition. We will buy her something she wants, something she needs, something she can wear, and something to read or watch. A couple weeks ago my BFF D gave a great chat at our MOPS meeting about gifts from the heart. I loved it so much, that I just had to share some of her tips. Gift giving can get so overwhelming and honestly sometimes out of hand.
1. Keep a Christmas shopping list in your phone. This way when you are with your family member or friend and they mention something they love, you can keep note of it.
2. It’s ok to spend different amounts on different people for the perfect gift. It really is the thought that counts.
3. Listen to hints that people give of what the may like or want.
4. Give from a genuine place in your heart, not because you feel like you “have” to.
5. Give the gift of time or an event. Make a gift certificate for someone inviting them out to go bowling and dinner, but make sure you remember to take them.
6. For kids, consider “four gifts”:
1. Something you want
2. Something you need
3. Something to wear
4. Something to read or watch
Why bother to wrap gifts beautifully?Â
1. They are pretty to look at under the tree.
2. It shows that you put time and thought into giving.
3. They’re more fun to give.
4. There’s more anticipation to open them.
1. Think “outside the box” to avoid gift cards when possible.
2. Try to get organized for a group gift instead of several small gifts.
3. Baked goods are great for neighbors. An inexpensive plate or box can dress it up.
Question: What is the best gift you ever received?
]]>So a lot of people have asked me what I want for Christmas this year and honestly I could care less. I am happy with whatever my friends and family get me.
I love gifts with intention, but I also like getting people things that they really want. I don’t NEED anything or so I thought. Then I asked all my Shredders and Facebook friends what they are asking this year for Christmas and I was like WOW there are a lot of fun things out there. So then I decided why not share them with all of you so you could get some ideas and inspiration for the Fitness and Health people in your life (or maybe some ideas for YOU).
So here is the awesome list I came up with:
Question: Is there something that you are asking for that’s not on this list?Â

]]>Hope you all had an amazing THANKSGIVING! We enjoyed time with family and friends! I even hosted my third free local Turkey Trot and about 80 people showed up! It was a huge success and I can’t wait to it again next year.
Today, I got out and did a bit of shopping today with my girlfriends and it was a lot of fun! I love to give gifts, but I also recognize that gifts are not the only thing to celebrate and enjoy through the holidays, there is also the amazing gift of quality time together! Soaking up the sounds and seasons of Christmas is just my favorite!
Two years ago I did this 24 Days of Togetherness idea, by Tina and decided it was time to bring it back! You make a list of 24 things, cut each item into a strip of paper, but them in a jar, then pull one out each day and do it together. Itâ€
s fun, spontaneous, and of course we can be flexible and pull out a different one if we canâ€
t do one of them that day. Just making this list makes me happy! I took some of Tinaâ€
s ideas and my friend Kasey’s and added some of my own, customized for our family! We will be doing these and tagging #24daysoftogetherness on Instagram. My friend Kasey from Veva Health is doing it too! Who wants to join us?
My List:
Drink peppermint hot cocoa
Give each other foot massages
Take a drive and look at Christmas lights
Make a list of 10 things you like about the other person
Make a Christmas cocktail
Play a board game
Watch a Christmas Movie Together with Homemade Popcorn
Make healthy Graham Cracker Houses
Get clothes together to donate to a homeless shelter
Go to the Mission Lights togther as a family
Drink eggnog (diary free)
Sing and dance to Christmas music
Watch the local Christmas Parade
Get a holiday DQ Blizzard, pay for the person in line behind us
Make brunch together in our PJ’s
Enjoy a Holiday Date Night
Have a fire
Wear red and green
Go to DisneyLand and watch the Christmas Parade
Wrap presents and drink wine
Buy a Christmas present for RJ, and drop off a gift for Toys for Tots
Take a family selfie
Share our favorite Christmas memory
Make cookies and decorate them
