Aren’t the Monday’s after a Holiday the hardest??? I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend.
My weekend started off at Target (not the best idea), but I did manage to find my spring wardrobe! I am the kind of person that goes to a store and finds a ton of things, tries them on, and then leaves with nothing. So when I found so many wonderful things that fit and are in my price range I get them, because they are worth every penny spent! I found two tanks, a Dodger tee and two super cute dresses.
My favorite was this blue dress, royal blue is one of my favorite colors!
We also had some visitors stay with us this weekend! My brother from AZ!! What a treat, I got to see him twice this month! While he was out, I had to give him another killer workout
Saturday was the day of all days!! I got on my sparkles and headed out for 3 parties!!
Our first party was for our dear friends, the Bowie’s little boy Caden’s first birthday! I can’t believe he is already one. Melissa did a wonderful job at decorating! Loved the Owl theme and huge letters of his name!
So many treats made from Pinterest. I refrained, but did enjoy some meat balls and lots of veggies! I had to pace myself for the day
On the way to Party #2 I got out of the car and was in LOVE with the beautiful weather we were having!! I am such a sunshine girl. I love the heat and it has been so cold around here that I couldn’t help, but dance in the sun!
The best thing about Party #2 (Easter celebration with the family) was the BOUNCE HOUSE!! We have one every year and I just love them! I think it brings out the small child in me!
I also got to see my sweet nieces again! I love being an aunt.
Then it was off to party #3! We are just too cool
Our last party was for my cousin Caden’s (yep same name as the first party) sweet 16 birthday party!! Can you believe he is 16? If you have been following for a while you might have remembered this post and this post.
We finished the night with some Catch Phrase with the family, what a laugh session!
Sunday it was off to church in Monrovia for an outside beautiful service to celebrate Resurrection Sunday!
I finally wore my Easter dress! I think my favorite thing to wear is dresses and finally the weather is here!
When we got home we had a couple friend over who’s families are far away over for an late Easter lunch. Our backyard is finally coming along again after a long winter season! We put up our new green umbrella I got recently from World Market on Sale!
We even did a fun little egg hunt for the kiddos, but they were more interested in the candy!
The two little models!
The rest of the evening was spent soaking up the sun!!!
Oh and the food was just ok… sadly I made the ham and a green bean side in the crock pot and honestly they were nothing to brag about
Everyone said the ham was ok, but I was not impressed…oh well better luck next year. But we did enjoy some Lemon Meringue pie that a friend brought, a first for me! It was ok, but I was missing my carrot cake I usually have every Easter!
After all the treats and snacking I started today off with my Shakeology!!! This stuff is a life savor!! Shakeology is so great and one shake pretty much covers my body’s normal daily requirement for vitamins and minerals. It always helps me get back on track!!
Our meal plan for the week is all about keeping it simple! I need to cut out sugar and get in my usual veggies and lean meats:
Monday: Homemade Chicken Nuggets + Green Beans
Tuesday: Tilapia Taco Salad= Tilapia, Mixed Greens, Avocado, Black Beans, Greek Yogurt and Salsa.
Wednesday: Shakeology
Thursday: Hubby’s Vinegar Chicken and Green Beans
Friday: Turkey Burgers and Sweet Potato homemade fries
Saturday: Thai food with Friends
As far as workouts go, I have one more week until the Run Through Redlands Half Marathon so today I am running my last long run of 10 miles and this week I will be getting in two more runs, upper and lower body weights, Insanity, and I am trying out CROSS FIT with a friend for the first time!!!!
Ok that post was longer then intended, thanks for reading!
Question: What was one treat that you enjoyed this weekend?
]]>
s hard to “retreat†at where you work. A little cabin get-away is just what we need.
I tied out an amazing recipe last week with some pretty simple ingredients. I got the recipe from my friend Stephanie and I couldnâ€
t wait to share it with all of you!
Chobani Thai Red Curry
Ingredients:
2tbsp canola oil
1 small onion chopped
1 block of firm tofu cut into cubes
3-5 tbsp Thai red curry paste
3/4 C red bell pepper chopped
3/4 C green pepper chopped
2C vegetable stock
4oz green beans cut into 2inch pieces
1 15.5oz can chickpeas, rinsed &drained
1C plain Chobani yogurt
Kosher salt
Pepper
Directions:
Heat oil in skillet. Add onion & bell peppers & sauté until soft, approx 3-5min. Stir in curry paste & coat veggies. Add stock, tofu, green beans, & chickpeas & stir to combine. Simmer for 20min, remove & stir in chobani. Add salt & pepper to taste.
I added in tofu and it was the perfect addition!

]]>This morning I woke up and set my week off right by reading Godâ€
s word and my devotional called Jesus Calling. This is just what I needed to read right now. I thought I would share it with you all as I know that it will speak to so many of you.
Waiting, trusting, and hoping are intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain. Trusting is the central strand, because it is the response from My children that I desire the most. Waiting and hoping embellish the central strand and strengthen the chain that connects you to Me. Waiting for Me to work, with your eyes on Me, is evidence that you really do trust Me. If …you mouth the words “I trust You†while anxiously trying to make things go your way, your words ring hollow. Hoping is future-directed, connecting you to your inheritance in heaven. However, the benefits of hope fall fully on you in the present.
Because you are Mine, you donâ€
t just pass time in your waiting. You can wait expectantly, in hopeful trust. Keep your “antennae†out to pick up even the faintest glimmer of My Presence.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.â€
—John 14:1Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
—Psalm 27:14God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. – http://bit.ly/eF5kSq
This could not have come at a much better time in my life
Love it when that happens!! God is teaching me a lot about waiting for things on his timing and waiting expectantly and with HOPE!
MASTER BEDROOM MAKEOVER UPDATE
A little update on our master bedroom makeover, we got it all painted just need to work on the trim. I also got this bed spread that I wanted from West Elm at Target for almost $50 cheaper and it came with pillow cases!
We love it, it really brightens up the whole room and gives it that classic feel we are going for. I am still debating on the little yellow pillow, suggestions?
We are also selling all of our bedroom furniture and are going to purchase this bed in black and this dresser, we are trying to simplify! I am going to be adding black and yellow accents to show off the gray a little more, I am loving the progress so far, but we have a ways to go.
You canâ€
t tell that much from this pic, but the wall on the right is a lot darker then three of the other walls. We chose Sharkey Gray and Flagstone by Martha Stewart.
Monday Meal Plan
If you have any questions, please let me know. Hope you guys have a wonderful Monday!
P.S. Today starts the first day of my March Beachbody Challenge!!! If you missed out on the March challenge, no worries send me an email as I will be doing a March one as well.
]]>A fresh new start to a brand new week of wonderful adventures!
What a weekend!!! Here is a little collage of all the fun that took place in this casa. Date night fun salmon with friends, FOR-YO!, softball, and just a lot of laughter!
I am off today and tomorrow and I am trying to play catch up with house chores and errand, OH JOY!
We started painting another room in our house and after it was finished we decided we didn’t like the color so much and now we are going to try again. We were going for a greyish blue color and it came out more purple blue. We are really struggling here on what to do with our bedroom, but it is time for a change!!
This is my vision for our new master bedroom: via pinterest
Our bedroom is not this big so we couldn’t have the added chairs and stool, but I love the bed and color scheme.
I really like this one too:
The bottom picture more reclects what our bedroom would actully look like ;)I am still debating on ordering the white duvet cover I love from West Elm. Lots of choices! I need to find yellow pillows? Any ideas on where to find them?

Felt great!
I am not gonna lie I am missing running outside, hot yoga and more kickboxing. I love the Livefit trainer, but I think I am just about burnt out on all the weight lifting. I am getting stronger which I love, but I think in March I am gonna add in something new
I am getting bored and when I get bored it is not good!!!!
