} I sadly didn†I did have to work here and there, but loved every minute of this weekend! It was so great seeing Meghann from Meals and Miles! We have been friends for over six years and haven†This week I kicked off my Summer Shred – Fall Edition and the ladies are going strong! Their fridges are packed with clean eats and their butts are getting kicked! This week marks WEEK 4 of my Irongirl Vegas Tri-Training! I have had a couple of set backs with the pool being closed and being on vacation, but feel stronger than ever! Week 1: Week 2: Week 3: This week’s tip is about BRICK workouts! I got my first one in last week. I rode 20 miles and then did a 2 mile run in the 100 degree heat! Ugh!!! What is a BRICK workout? I would suggest doing whatever you can and not get too caught up on the speed of the workout. I plan on going out for one or two ‘brick’ workouts at my race pace, but I won’t stress over it. My recommendation is to include at least 1 bike-run ‘brick’ workout per week. I think that for an Olympic and Sprint Tri, doing a ‘brick’ is nice so that you can get comfortable with the transitions because your legs will feel kinda funny when you wobble off the bike… but they will still feel like that at the race. On to Week 4! Questions:
t spend any time at the pool or any BBQâ€
s this Labor Day Weekend, but still got in some amazing long bike rides, girls night watching Friends, lunch dates with friends, wine tasting birthday party with my love, DISNEYLAND and even a 6-mile run on Sunday!
t seen each other in almost three years!!! I loved hanging out at the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ with her this past Friday!!! I canâ€
t wait to go visit Meghann in Florida one day. She was here doing the Dumbo Double Dare race… I so should have signed up for that! This Week’s Tri-Tips:
A ‘brick’ in the triathlon world usually refers to a bike-run workout, but could also include a swim-bike workout. Brick workouts are important in triathlon since the sport is made of up of three consecutively ran legs — a swim, a bike and a run leg.
What kind of other “Tri-Tips” would you like to hear about?
How was your Labor Day Weekend?
Have you ever done a BRICK workout?

I will be following most of Tim Hollandâ€
s “The 12-Week Athlete†Training Plan again, just like I did for my Half Ironman. I love that the book has a plan for every level of athlete. I am going to stick to the Intermediate Olympic Distance plan with a little bit of my own flare.
What my plan consists of:
You can see it more clearly HERE. I have never done this distance of a Tri before, so my #1 goal is to have fun training and finish well.
I LOVE TRIATHLONS so much and I am pretty sure this might be my favorite distance! After this, I will have done every distance besides a full Ironman which I will do one day! I know in the Olympics they get anywhere from 1 hour & 45 minutes to 2 hours finishing times… ya I am aiming for a “3 hours or less” kind of time.
A 30 minute swim, 1 hour 30 minutes bike, 1 hour run. We shall see.
I am so excited to get back in the pool and riding my bike more constantly. I will be doing TUESDAY TRI updates over the next 11 weeks in hopes to encourage you all to get the passion and desire to do one too!
