]]>At the beginning of the year I was still babysitting a few kids, RJ was in kindergarten, and we were about to move into our forever home! Then March came, my hubby turned 40 and the world shut down. RJ was no longer at school, I was no longer watching kiddos, Matt was working from home and we were starting over in a new home. I thank God we were already moved into our new home and were able to unpack and make our house a home well we we’re in “quarantine”.
So now here we are about to head in to August and we are trying our best to thrive in this season instead of survive. This year we have decided to homeschool RJ. I can stay home with her and I have experience as a teacher in an elementary classroom, so it was an easy choice to make. To be honest I have always wanted to homeschool her, but I wanted her to be part of a larger community. We loved her kindergarten teacher and she did have a great experience at her public school. I just knew this year needed to be different.
I think with so many uncertainties going on right now it’s one thing we can be certain about. Since saying YES to homeschooling, God has provided a beautiful community of other mamas that we will be joining with to become a small neighborhood school. We will meet three times a week for 3-4 hours and help each other guide the little learners and take turns helping with the littles who are not in school yet.
I am not a seasoned homeschool mama by any means, but I do think God has been preparing me for this in ways I didn’t even know. I am not nervous at all about this upcoming year, but instead I am THRILLED! I know that this isn’t the case for everyone and I know that we are privileged to be able to do this. I also know that some mamas can’t stay home and wish that their littles could just go back to school in the fall. I am not taking this opportunity for granted, one bit.
I have had some friends ask what curriculum we are choosing to use for this upcoming year so I thought I would share here. The great thing about homeschool is that you can choose from all kinds of curriculum for the type A personality this can be overwhelming, but for me I love the FREEDOM to mix it up! I am still really interested in the Classical Conversations methods, but this year we are going to try Master Books and The Good and the Beautiful. I have heard raving reviews of both and for this newbie they seem right up my alley.
We will be using the Good and the Beautiful for Language Arts, Handwriting and Nature. I love how the lessons are laid out so easily and beautifully. I love how this curriculum isn’t super pricey as they make it affordable/free for everyone.
We will be using Master Books for History, Science and Math. I love that they weave God into the History and Science lessons. I love how easy it is to follow. I also love that it is reasonably priced.
For reading I went to the good will and got all kinds of books that are at RJ’s level and we will check out books from the Library as well. I also purchased The Ordinary Parent to Teaching Reading, I needed guided lessons to guide RJ to reading more confidently.
I also purchased the Big Life Journal for RJ to go through. I love how they focus on growth mindset and encourage learners to do hard things! To embrace challenges and to process their feelings.
We will also be doing Duolingo, Art, Music and lots PE of course!
We will all be getting together soon to map out the year. We will also be breaking it down into sessions so we don’t get super overwhelmed. I purchased this awesome planner to help me stay organized.
We will be doing “school” outside with the neighborhood school three days a week so I purchased this cute little lap desk to take with us to the park. It will be perfect to store her supplies in as well. At home I don’t believe in sitting in the same spot to get work done, so she will have options to do her school work at. She can do it in her room at her desk, outside, the dining room table, the kitchen counter or the play room. Leaving her room to choose what works best for her.
I have had this cart from IKEA for while and didn’t really have any real use for it until now! This makes the perfect homeschool storage. The top shelf has her morning basket (that will be a whole other post) as well as books that she can read. The second shelf are materials and supplies for math and art. As well as lots of flash cards for phonics, math and time. The bottom shelf is all of her curriculum books.
This is the last week of summer for us! Next week we add in some new homeschool rhythms. I am using Summer Bridge Activities Learning Workbook for RJ to review her kinder year before we start first grade. We are also going start Dulingo and the Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading.
I think 6 is such a fun year to be guiding her education and I canâ€
t wait to see what the year has in store for us! This week weâ€
re setting intentions, creating a mission for our home, daily + character goals, and our educational philosophy. I promise to share with you all as well!
What are your plans for this school year?
]]>
How are you hanging in there?! It’s been quite the year!
One thing I have missed more than anything is coaching ladies to become healthy and whole! I miss teaching fitness classes and encouraging ladies to become more fit physically and spiritually. So I have decided to bring back my MAMA SHRED! It is one of my favorite Shred programs and I can’t wait to help mamas in this crazy time! If I know anything, it’s that mamas need something to push them to be moving in freedom and making healthier food choices so they can be the best versions of themselves! This is our “get-to” and I hope you will join me!
Believe me, I’ve had days / weeks where I would rather stay in bed, drink wine and watch movies and pretend that all is right in the world! Thank goodness God has shifted my perspective and I want to help others find that shift!
If you have done one of my Shreds in the past, know that this one is like the others in that you can do all of the workouts at home! The biggest difference (other than that I am keeping this strictly for moms) is that this will be small and will include FB LIVE workouts! I want this to be more intimate and I only want you to sign up if you are ready for some real accountability; that means this is limited to the first 50 mamas!
Here are all the details:
# OF WEEKS:Â 8 Weeks
COST:Â $50 (Less than most gym memberships that you aren’t paying for now)
REGISTRATION OPEN:Â July 23 – 31 or until full
DATES:Â August 3 – September 25
REGISTRATION LINK:Â Click Here
After the Mama Shred is over, I will be offering an additional month to those who want to continue this journey a little longer for an affordable cost!Â
This Shred is for any mom no matter where you live. I have coached over 1,000 clients to be in the best optimal health of their lives including hundreds of moms. It is these successes that keep me wanting to coach!

WORKOUTS:
Each week I will be posting and emailing everyone a document with five workouts so you can plan your week accordingly. All you will need for these workouts are 10-15lb free weights (you can go heavier if you need to), a yoga mat, space to move about, a bench, a jump rope (optional) and a 10-15lb kettlebell (optional). I will also be leading the workouts on FACEBOOK LIVE Monday, Wednesday and Fridays that will be different from the print outs! This is NEW! Something I am excited about doing! If you can’t do them with me live, then you can watch the repeat! The workouts are for everyone, there are always modifications. They are always different so you will never get bored! The workouts take 30 minutes with modifications, but still give you a great workout. I believe in quality over quantity.Â
MEAL PLANS & SHOPPING LISTS:
You will also receive a weekly meal plan to stick to each week on Saturday mornings as well as a shopping list! This meal plan will include a lot of simple recipes, but also some more complex ones if you choose. Obviously everyoneâ€
s nutritional needs are different so I will be encouraging everyone to get onto MY FITNESS PAL and log your daily food consumption in order to meet the calories recommended to help you reach your goals. Last, I am also encouraging everyone to kick sugar (natural sugar is OK) for the entire Mama Shred. I think we all need a reset!
FACEBOOK GROUP:
I have created a secret Facebook group for everyone in this Shred to be in so that we can all encourage each other and share some motivation. If you donâ€
t have a Facebook, no worries… I will be emailing the plans every week as well.
WEEKLY MEET UP:Â
We will be going through the book the Wellness Revelation, which you will need to purchase as soon as you sign up. Each week we will meet on ZOOM to go over each chapter and process what we are learning. This is optional of course, but I know it will bless you!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

A Welcome Packet will be sent to you by August 1st with a link to join the Facebook group.
If your PayPal account has an e-mail address that you DO NOT ACCESS OFTENÂ and/or is not an email that is associated with your Facebook account, please write the email address that you want us to use in the NOTES portion of your PayPal registration.

]]>This year my word of the year is discipline and that is a whole blog post in itself. I am blogging again which feels so GOOD! I am so happy to be back, but before I get in to all the things I have to tell you about something I have fallen in love with, Beauty Counter. Have you heard of it? Well if not, I am not sure why it has taken me so long to commit. My sweet friend Heidi told me about a few years ago and I wasn’t sure what the hype was all about until my friend Kristin sent me a bunch of their products to try out for a few months and I can honestly say it has changed my entire face!! It has made my skin feel alive again!!
I used to be so good at taking care of my skin. I would wash it every night, tone, mask, moisturize, the whole shibang. Then we had kids and I threw it all out the window. This year I decided I want to bring that discipline BACK and start taking care of my skin. Since moving to AZ my skin has been so dry and just not the same. Doesn’t help that I just turned 37 and gravity is not on my side;) I am ok with getting older but I don’t want to age any quicker than I have to! Â So I knew I needed to get back to a regular skin routine, but this time it needed to be CLEAN!
What I love about Beauty Counter the most is they are filled with CLEAN and EFFECTIVE ingredients! You know me, I am all about clean and toxic free life (proud hippy mom). To be honest I didn’t want to join another MLM and sound salsey, but Beauty Counter is NOT another MLM…it’s more of a sister helping a sister out kind of thing. It is direct sales, but I promise there is no scheme here! Â If you know me at all then you know I wouldn’t want to share about anything that I truly was not passionate about, shoot I tell people about all the things I love that I don’t even sale! Â Y’all don’t worry I won’t be talking about skin care products all the time on my blog and blasting you with promos! I just wanted to share something I am loving right now and give you the opportunity if you are interested in helping you with your skin care journey. If this is something you are interested in shoot me an email nhershoes@gmail.com.
Here are some of the products that I have been loving! The Rejuvenating serum, Rejuvenating Face Cleanser, the Adaptive Face Moisture Lotion, Brightening Facial Mask, Brighting Facial Mist, Brighting Oil, Cleansing Balm, Dew Skin (like a BB cream), Touch Up Concealer Pen, the Bronzer! I really want to try out their highlighter too! I was already using most of these things already, but they were “dirty” and I could tell my skin wasn’t changing at all. I also love their eye cream and have noticed a huge difference in my eye wrinkles. Most of all I love that I am using really non-toxic skin care that I can feel good about! If non-toxic and clean products are your thing or not, you would love Beauty Counter! I got these products back in February and I am still going though them! They last a long time and you don’t have to use a lot. So that is it! I can’t tell you enough how amazing my skin feels and looks! I get compliments all the time. I have made it part of my routine and I actually look forward to washing my face at night! The Cleansing Balm get’s all my mascara off without even having to scrub! So glad I found something that I love and can stand 100% behind!
Question: What is a product that you know that you need to be using?Â

This Shred is going to be a different than any other Shred I have done. I am taking the Shred to a whole new level! During this Shred, we will be focusing on “restarting†and really cleansing from the inside out. As well as setting intensions for and starting your year with freedom and JOY! We will also be going through the Wellness Revelation Book, so you will need to purchase it HERE.
It isnâ€
t a detox or some crazy low-calorie diet, just more simple and clean. The workouts will be intentional and no more than 40 minutes, but you can do them from home and incorporate running if you are a runner.
As your coach, we will work together to restore your health and strength in becoming who God has called you to be. Set your focus on God and whatâ€
s ahead and live life to the fullest. We will work and grow together in unity, bringing joy back into your life!
This Shred is for anyone and everyone no matter where you live. I have coached over 1,500 clients to be in the best optimal health of their lives and it is these successes that keep me wanting to coach!

]]>I just love stocking stuffers. When I was a little girl they were my favorite to open! Â We would open up all our gifts on Christmas morning and then our stockings. I couldn’t wait to see what fun little trinkets were inside. Now the Hubby fills up my stocking with fun stuff! He is the best gift giver and I am still working on it, guys are so much harder to buy for. But Rylee-Joy’s stocking is so much fun to fill! This year I want to be SUPER intentional with her stocking and thought I would share some of my ideas!

What are some of your staple stocking stuffers?Â
]]>
So the tree is up, the music is playing and the baking is happening and we aren’t mad about it one bit. Sometimes a little earlier is just a little sweeter. Since we are in the spirit I thought it would be fun to share our top 5 Christmas traditions. We have a ton of things we love to do, but more than anything we love to make memories just being home and cuddling on the couch with a good Christmas movie.
Something you can find me doing is sipping on a hot drink while watching a Hallmark movie every night after 8pm, if you are local please come join me!
This is our first year in Verrado and I think it will be truly amazing! Lots of fun things to do in our cute little town. A christmas tree lighting ceremony, carols in the park, bunco, christmas cookie decorating and much much more! But more than anything we are exited to celebrate the birth of our Savior and celebrate kindness, love and grace with all we know.
So friends, what is your favorite Christmas tradition?
]]>How are you? I hope that wherever you are you are enjoying the change of season. Yes we are entering into an Arizona fall, but more than that we are entering into a brand new season. Filled with opportunity and lots of change! Tis our life
If we were having coffee this morning…I would tell you that I quit my job as a primary guide, because the drive was too long and we needed to stay closer to home. This will be the last year that RJ will be home full time before she goes to kindergarden and being in the car for three hours a day was not the way we wanted to spend that time:( Â So I said goodbye a week ago (which is so hard cause I loved my kids and my job) but it was for the best. I am gonna miss Acton so much!
If we were having coffee this morning…I would tell you that I am loving FALL here in Arizona! This is our third fall and every year it just gets better. We have baked pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin oats, pumpkin pancakes…you name it we have made it with pumpkin…lol….At the end of each September I am always about to pack my bags and move to a cooler state and then all of a sudden the temps drop and it is just beautiful! Plus our new city has lots of trees and porches so it makes fall a little more special.
If we were having coffee this morning…I would tell you that I just got back from hosting Refresh Summit and it was amazing! So many chains were broken and hearts were set FREE! The theme of the retreat was Transformed and FREE and we saw just that happen. I know for me, God spoke loud and clear about things that I needed to let go and give over to him. We also moved our bodies a ton and I got to lead a kickboxing workshop! I love leading fitness! In this season in my life I am not doing it so much, but I know I will get back to it soon. I can’t wait for our next summit!
If we were having coffee this morning…I would tell you that we launched a new business Peyton Bre with Bobbi! This seriously fell in our laps at just the right time! Weâ€
re just a few short weeks away from our official launch (November 2nd) ! Peyton Bre is a social selling model company with a mission of empowering girls and strengthening and building positive relationships within families, social circles, our local communities, and even within ourselves. We offer girls clothing in the 6-16 size range, and feature a boho-chic style, featuring lots of florals, feminine lace, and soft and flowy fabrics.
The mission is everything! We are on mission to break the cycle of negative body image starting at the age of 6! You can join my Facebook group to keep update on whats happening, follow us on IG, and we would love it if you would join our mailing list! Also if it’s something you would be interested in selling, shoot me an email and let’s chat! marie dot bobbi at gmail dot com.
