So much stuff!!
I have never had to travel for a triathlon before and this race is only 1.5 hours away. We will be staying in the OC with our friends Justin and Candice (The Tri pros) they only live about 30 minutes from the start!
Tonight I laid our all my gear and packed it by transition order(Got this idea from Meghann who’s doing our first HIM on Sunday too).
First up the SWIM:
– Tri-Suit
– Swim Cap
– Two pair of Goggles (just in case)
– Vaseline (chaffing not ok)
I will be picking up my wet suit tomorrow at the expo, I am renting one for only $30. I’ll have to practice getting in and out of it tomorrow night!
On to the BIKE:
– Gloves
– Helmet
– Water Bottles
– Socks
– Bike Tube + CO2 Cartridges on my Bike
– Bike Levers
– Bike Pump in the Car
– Cycling Shoes
– Sunglasses
– Bike is in the Car!
Last, the RUN:
– Running Shoes
– Race Belt
– Garmin (not shown)
– Shotblocks (not shown need to get more)
– Hat (not shown)
– Water-bottle
Now the Transition area:
My friend Sharri was so sweet and let me borrow her Tri-Transition Bag!! I so want one
It holds all my stuff!! And love that I can where it on my back.
She also let me barrow a transition neoprene mat! It’s bright and will really be great for laying my stuff on during transitions!
I also packed a towel for drying off with.
I also borrowed this neoprene chip ankle band! No chaffing for me!
Fuel:
*Cliff Bars for the bike + Power Bar
*Shot blocks for the run
Still need to pack Hammer fuel for the run!!!
Post Race Stuff:
– Sweatshirt
– Sweatpants
– Compression Socks
– Compression Shorts
Awwww I am getting excited!!! I hope to finish and that’s really the main goal
Time to get some rest, a couple hours of work tomorrow and then I am out!!!
Question: Did I forget anything????
]]>Love this skirt. It is super comfy!!!
I always lay out my clothes the night before. It’s a routine that saves me so much time!!!
Some of you asked me how I have so much energy to do all that I do in a day?
So today I’ll try to start to answer this… try
Well first off when I teach bootcamp I don’t actually do the workouts. I train them (just like a PT session). Either way, it still is a mental workout for sure, but it gives me great joy to be helping others. I never find it exhausting.
For my HIM training, my two-a-days have been tough, but because I have a goal in mind it has pushed me through every workout. Honestly the key to me staying motivated is my mental state. I start the day in prayer and reading God’s word. It helps me focus on what the important things are in life!!! Getting wrapped up in the busyness of life is where one can get burnt out. Instead I’d really enjoying every moment.
Don’t get me wrong. I do get tired and at those moments I let my mind and body rest. Balance is key and I know some people think that my life is so busy, but honestly I do listen to my body and when I lose focus I stop reflect and get right back up!
We all have 24 hours in a day and we all have different priority lists. I choose to always put God, people, then myself on that list and from there life unfolds!
Keeping motivated will get easier if you stay consistent and have a goal in mind!
Today I challenge you to reflect on your priorities and maybe do some rearrangingÂ
This morning I woke up at 4:30, which wasn’t too had since I barely sleep because it was 80 degrees in our house last night! Hubby and I are contemplating setting up camp outside tonight
I taught a killer bootcamp class at 5am and 5:45! They all hated me this morning but will thank me later!
After my early morning classes I met up with Val and ran a speedy 5.5 miles (50min) and jumped in the pool for a 1,000 yd swim. Considering it was 90 degrees when we ran, that swim felt AMAZING!
I had to get back to teach one more bootcamp class and now I am ready for breakfast!!!! I did have a banana and toast at 7am, but need more NOW!!!
I have so much to share with you all about fueling a prepping for a HIM!! This week has been amazing and I am started to really get in the groove with all my training
Question: What is something that you would love me to share with you all about training for an HIM? I do not know all the right stuff, but I am learning so much!
