Can you believe that itâ€
s already half way through the year?! Crazy right? Maybe I should look back on my New Yearâ€
s Goals and re-evaluate how I am doing.Â
How are you doing? June also means summer is just around the corner! Guess I am glad I am SHREDDING it UP with all my June Summer Shredders!
This weekend was kicked off with our #FridayFunDay! I work about 16 hour days all week, between being a Mama, Personal Trainer, Kickboxing Instructor, Blogger, Retreat Coordinator and Refresh Attire Owner! I love it all so much, but I feel like I just need a day to fully disconnect! So Fridays are our new Sabbath.
This Friday we hit up the beach for some fun in the sun. It was amazing!
This weekend I also had the great pleasure to spectate my first Marathon! I know crazy, right?! My dear friend/running buddy was running her 6th marathon at the Rock and Roll San Diego Marathon. RJ and I tagged along to cheer her on!
We arrived on Saturday and hit up the EXPO, oh how I love RNR EXPOS! So many fun things to see and taste. There wasnâ€
t too much that I didnâ€
t see at the Boston Marathon Expo, but there were two people that I was thrilled to run into!!! Monica from Run Eat Repeat and Meghann from Meals and Miles! Two of my longest blogger friends who I adore! It was so good to catch up with them and cheer them on in the race as well.
It was kind of weird going out to dinner with the racers and not trying to “carb load†myself. I did enjoy some pasta because  you have to “when in Little Italy†and some wine. It was kind of nice not worrying about what I was going to eat!
We hit the hay early and got up even earlier! Thank goodness RJ is an easy baby and an early riser, she was a little champ waking up to say good luck at the start line with Susie.
The only other time we got a chance to see her was at mile 5. Where we saw Skinny Runner and Monica as well.
Then we headed to the finish line. I have so much respect for spectators, itâ€
s a crazy hot mess out there! Trying to get to the finish line was crazy! But we made it about .6 of a mile out and I got to cheer Susie on one more time and her daughter even jumped in to finish with her!
She did amazing! Kinda made me want to do another. OH NO! I got all emotional just watching! Races make me such a sap!
We celebrated with some wonderful Mexican food and of course a Margarita …I mean I did walk about 6 miles with a baby. That counts for something, right?!
We hit the road and got home in time for SUNDAY baseball!!!! I still had some work to catch up on, but it wasnâ€
t so bad working outside with this view.
Such a fun weekend!
Question: Have you ever spectated a race?

t believe I am well into week 3 of marathon training!!! It has been amazing. I feel like I am seriously in the best shape of my life. I guess all that cross-training and strength training has paid off! I can not tell you enough friends how strength training has changed my LIFE!
So far we have done a 16 mile run, and this past weekend we did a 18 mile run. It was seriously amazing. We are training on a down hill, flat and a bit of hilly course. We are FLYING!! I pushed us (I am sure Susie loved me for that
) We did an amazing 8:27 pace and felt amazing! At this rate we could BOSTON QUALIFY!
I have been doing some pretty hard core HIT training after our NROL workouts and I honestly think it is what has helped me keep my speed!!! Love that I am only running 3 times a week and lifting twice a week, such an awesome balance!
This is what getâ€
s me up at 4am most mornings!
Ok, I canâ€
t blame all my speed on my hard work (ok I DO and I will), but these awesome shoes do help! I may have been converted to a Saucony fan for life!!!! I am loving my new KINVARA 4â€
s!!!
LOVE the color, love how light they are, love how I feel like I am running on air!!! I love that their slogan is KICKASSIMUS. I will do a better review once I run in them for a bit longer!
I am still hitting up the gym on Tuesdayâ€
s and Thursdays for our early morning gym session to keep up our NROL training plan. Enjoying every minute of it and feel like itâ€
s a nice break in between our running days!
FUEL
Fueling while I train is super important to me. I typically have a piece of Ezekiel bread with almond butter or a banana before I head out for a run. It gives me the energy I need and is something my stomach can handle. On Tuesday I was out near a Whole Foods and picked up some of my favorite training fuel, Vega!!! I love their pre workout, sustaining guu, and post workout fuel!
I also enjoy my Shakeology every morning to give me the protein I need, and all my fruits and veggies for the day!
People always ask me how I shop and I tell ya, Fresh and Easy makes life so simple. I pick up about 75% of our groceries for the week there, a few things from Trader Joeâ€
s and hit up the farmers market for some produce. I LOVE GROCERY SHOPPING!!! I honestly would love to be a personal grocery shopper/cook one day! I am huge on picking up REAL ingredients and Fresh and Easy makes that so simple!
Most nights for dinner I eat some kind of tofu or fish, a big pile of veggies and a sweet potato or quinoa. I also love a glass of wine about twice a week as well, especially on SUNDAYS!
I canâ€
t believe I am running a marathon in 7 weeks, I am not sure it has really hit me yet!!
Question: What is your favorite pair of running shoe?
]]>
s right friends I signed up for my next MARATHON!!!! Can you believe I havenâ€
t ran a marathon since 10-10-10 the Chicago Marathon!

Well itâ€
s been an amazing 2.5 year break, but this girl is throwing her running shoes/skirt on and starting to get serious about her training!
On my Friday Fun Run this past week I was chatting with some friends, that just ran the LA marathon and I got the BUG! If youâ€
re a runner, then you know what BUG I am talking about. So I did a bit of research and decided to to the Ojai, Mountains to BEACH Marathon here in Southern California! My job has a camp out there we can stay at and I kind of convinced a couple of other friends to do it with me
!!
Here is the FUN/CRAZY part itâ€
s in 9 WEEKS!!! Itâ€
s on May 26th!! Thank goodness I have been running twice a week and have kept my base miles in. I am going to use the Run Less Run Faster Marathon Plan once again. I love that it is only 3 days a week, that way I can still get in my NROL workouts!!
Speaking of the New Rules of Lifting, I just finished phase 3!!! I am working on the recap to share with you all, I canâ€
t believe I am HALF WAY finished with the PLAN!
Today I sat down and wrote out my training plan until the race, already have my first 18 miler this week! I also prepped all day for the entire week! This weekend (canâ€
t wait to tell you all about it) my friend Ronny made the most amazing Egg and Avocado Salad that I couldnâ€
t wait to add to my lunches! I will be sharing the recipe soon!!!
Time to enjoy the rest of the last minutes of this wonderful Sunday!!
P.S. Be on the look out for my second annual SUMMER SHRED!
Question:
Whatâ€
s your training plan this Spring?
