Last week I had the pleasure of attending my friend Whitney’s iPhone App launch party! She partnered up with the beautiful Kodi Kitchen, the creator of Best U Studio for her super fun Abs + Apps Launch Party in West HollyWood at the Naked Princess! I have always wanted to try a U Barre class, so naturally when I got the invitation I had to call my bestie who is a ballet instructor and invite her to join me! I wasn’t about to make a fool of myself without her
Kodi led us in a rocking U Barre class with 8, 10, or 12 pound U Barres. If you have never felt a U Barre, they have the same texture as a kettle bell and now she even has ones that come in a gold finish..fancy…fancy! It was a lot hard than I was anticipating!
All of us ladies got to wear a Fabletics outfit! I have been dying to try out an outfit from them for a while now! If you havenâ€
t heard, Fabletics is the super cute and affordable activewear line by Kate Hudson! I loved the back of my tank top and it fit quite comfortably. I think I should have gotten a small as it was a little looser than I am used to.
Danielle and I were both super sore from the workout the next day! Having to hold the U Barre the whole time while doing squats, lunges, abs and much more kept our arms and abs contracted the WHOLE TIME! The workout is a fusion of cardio, barre, pilates, and ballet moves, using the patented weighted U Barre to get those strong, toned arms!
After the class we enjoyed some of Whitney’s most popular recipes on her blog: Watermelon Caprese Salad,Skinny Chicken Salad Bites, and No-Bake Chocolate Truffles.
As well as some refreshing Health-Ade Kombucha and chardonnay and champagne from One Hope Wine. I never would have thought of combining Kombuch with wine, what a great idea!
Danielle and I had such a great time! Thank you Whitney for the wonderful invite!
Question: Have you tried a U Barre class or any Barre class? I am excited because we have a Barre workshop at the Refresh Summit this year!!!Â

s IDEA World Fitness Convention might have been the best fitness conferences I have ever attended EVER (minus Refresh Summit, of course).
In case you donâ€
t know what the Idea Convention is, itâ€
s a conference for fitness instructors to take fitness classes and listen to incredible lectures for 4 solid days! You can try everything from zumba, body pump and spin and/or get certified. This year it was in Anaheim, California. Practically in my backyard!
![]()
I came home feeling more pumped to chase my dreams and step out of my comfort zone, more than EVER!
It was 4 fun-filled, packed days and instead of giving you the break down minute-by-minute, I thought I would break it down to the Top 10 things I took away.
#1 // I LOVE SPIN AND I WILL GET CERTIFIED!
![]()
I mean, I knew I loved spin before I even went to the convention. I took two completely different spin classes on Saturday that rocked my world.
The first one was on a spin bike that actually MOVED with you! Talk about full body workout. You had to really use your core and move with the bike. I am not sure any of these gyms exist anywhere near me, but man was I sore! I also took a Schwinn GIRL POWER spin class. That was my favorite class of the whole weekend by far.
The lead trainers gave us tips about what we should say when we are training ladies and even how our hormonal cycles really play a huge part on our performance. After their chat, they led the best spin class I have ever taken in my life! They played all kinds of fun WOMEN songs and at the end, they had everyone in tears. It was powerful. I can’t wait to go get my certification!
#2 // I WANT TO BLOG MORE ABOUT WORKOUTS AND RECIPES
I absolutely love blogging and I know all of you amazing dedicated readers could care less what I blog about as long as I am just being me and I donâ€
t plan on changing that. However, I am really passionate about giving you all workout ideas and clean eating recipes, so I need to make sure I keep that up.
The first part of IDEA was BLOGFEST, which was a two day conference for bloggers to attend and I attended some of the workshops and really enjoyed them. Every time I get surrounded by fellow bloggers, I get so inspired and motivated to continue to do what I love! I also love hanging out with BLENDS (blogger friends), they just get you!

#3 // TODD DURKIN IS AMAZING!
![]()
(Cassie and Todd)
I was so honored to have the opportunity to not only go to Todd Durkinâ€
s Bootcamp workshop, but thanks to Propel, I got the opportunity to sit and chat with him for almost two hours after his bootcamp.
His bootcamp was amazing! We did some body weight stuff with a DJ playing some pretty amazing beats and then we broke up to pairs and groups to do some really fun circuits that I canâ€
t wait to try in some of my classes. My favorite one, was when he had us shadow each other. One person was the leader and the other had to follow everything they were doing for 30 seconds and then switch. Itâ€
s a lot harder than it sounds!
![]()
I didnâ€
t know too much about Todd’s story until about a week before the event. I started asking him questions about where he has come from and was really intrigued by his answers!
Todd started as a teacher, just like me, then decided to open up a gym in San Diego called Fitness Quest 10. He started penniless and in two months, his gym started to take off! He happened to be in the right place at the right time when he was asked to train some professional NFL players and from there his business just took off!
Todd is a man of great faith and being able to hear his story truly inspired me to stop being fearful of things that I know God is calling me to step out and do! I couldnâ€
t have been paired up with a better trainer to interview. He isnâ€
t a professional motivational speaker for no reason! He even invited me to come out to his gym and try a class… OH YES!
#4 // BOOT-CAMP IS FUN
![]()
IÂ took a few boot-camp classes, the XTC-Extreme Training Camp led by JG, was so fun! I made sure to take lots of notes so that I can add a few of the moves to my classes.
He broke us up into nine groups and there were a total of nine stations. We were at each station for one minute with 30 second break to get to the next station. We did the entire circuit about 2.5 times and I burned over 350 calories! There was everything from PLYO PUSHUPS to Plank Pass Throughs.
#5 // OPENING CEREMONY

The opening ceremony was so inspiring. They gave awards to the Fitness Instructor of the Year, Personal Trainer of the Year and so much more. This year’s winner of the Jack LaLanne Fitness award was Diana Nyad, the amazing women swimmer who at the age of 62 years old swam 103 miles from Cuba to Florida.
Her speech was phenomenal! She had all of us sitting with our ears glued to every word she said! I was so encouraged to never give up on my dreams, I am not too young! She has a documentary and now I must see it!
#6 // THERE ARE FITNESS BRANDS THAT JUST GET ITÂ
I found some of the cutest little pieces at the IDEA EXPO! Here are two of my favorites. These cute bracelets from Momentum Jewlery that have some awesome life motto’s and you can have your own personalized.
How cute are these Fivesse bags? They are gym bags that are not only fashionable, but super functional! One of these will be on my Christmas wish list for sure!
![]()
#7 // BEST EXPO EVER!
I wish I could have taken more photos at the EXPO, but I was too busy meeting all kinds of amazing fitness folks! The expo had all the latest and greatest fitness classes, equipment, fuel and so much more!
I love going to these things because I get to see faces ‘behind the brands.’ It always intrigues me to hear where they all started and what their mission is.
![]()
#8 // PIYO WAS MADE FOR ME!Â
I have so been wanted to try PIYO for quite some time now and I had the amazing opportunity to not only take a class, but take a class with the DIVA Chalene Johnson!!!
She is the creator of PiYo and just like the name say’s it’s a mix of pilates and yoga. It was created for runners, cyclists, and all athletes that don’t get in their stretching! HELLO ME! I hope that they have a class at my gym soon!
#9 // MIXERS ARE MY ‘THANG’
We had a happy hour on the first night that we arrived at BLOGFEST and it was a lot of fun!
Subway provided some sandwiches and refreshments were provided as well. I wasn’t so much into the food as I was into mingling it up with JARED from Subway and all my BLENDS!
It was so great seeing a lot of the bloggers that I met at Fitbloggin’ two years ago! Casey, Monica, Heather, Katie, Courtney, Julie, and Gina are such a fun group of ladies! I was not as good at taking pictures this time around (Gazelle, I wish we would have got a pic!) as I was at past conferences because I was too busy catching up and enjoying the moment
![]()
#10 // I GOT TO MEET JILLIAN MICHAEL’S!Â
![]()
I think I have done just about everyone of Jillian Michael’s videos and I was so excited that she was the keynote speaker at BLOGFEST!
She addressed some issues she came across as a trainer on The Biggest Loser and gave us amazing tips about how to be good trainer! I loved her passion behind all that she does and she is the queen of being REAL! I mean, we had an earthquake in the middle of the session and she was about to throw herself under a table, it was the best!!!
I loved this quote from her, “To excel in your business, you have to have flexibility, have an open mind and think about the possibilities that could follow, good or bad!”
I also loved that she said, “Be OK with FAILING!”Â
What an amazing four days! I was so blessed to be able to experience! I can’t wait to apply all that I learned!!!
Question: Have you ever heard of the IDEA World Fitness Convention?
]]>What an amazing weekend. We enjoyed a birthday dinner at BJâ€
s, finished up a few nursery things, built a patio cover, got in a 24 mile bike ride, relaxed by the pool and enjoyed dinner with the parents.
I canâ€
t believe itâ€
s almost September! Have you heard of the Influence Conference? I’ll be going to the Influence Conference this September 26th-28th in Indianapolis and would love to meet you there! What an amazing way to KICK OFF the FALL!

What is The Influence Conference?
It is all about using the influence that God has given you to do big things in your personal life, community, family and job. You definitely donâ€
t have to have a blog to come to the conference, but if you do have a blog, youâ€
ll learn how to better use social media to share about Jesus.
More than anything, itâ€
s just going to be an amazing girls get-away weekend where we will fellowship, share stories, be real, find encouragement and laugh together. I am super excited to meet so many amazing women and more than anything be challenged in my faith and encouraged to do what God wants me to do with the influence I have.
Here is a little sneak peek of the schedule:
One of the Influence Network contributors, Ashley, wrote a great post about preparing for the conference. You can check it out HERE.
What are you waiting for?
Sign up today!
was just what I needed to start of this crazy new adventure as a full time business owner. This conference, truly could not have come at a better time. The conference was full of fitness enthusiast and bloggers who are ready to take it to the next level! Of course lots of sweating took place, but there was also a lot of eating and PLAYING! If you follow me on IG, you know there was a lot of fun!
The SWAG was nice! Reebok hooked us up with some of their CrossFit Nano 2.0s!
Portland is so much fun! Itâ€
s not a huge city, but there is a ton of fun places to eat (lots of veggie and vegan options), breweries, donut shops and of course my favorite was all of the COFFEE SHOPS!
I visited Case Study Coffee, Spella Café (best Afogado in the world), the Luc Lac Kambucha, Kure (juice), Noble Rot, Merewether’s and I am sure I am missing somewhere!
My favorite café was Stumptown Coffee Roasters! Their Hairbender is so delish! I wish I would have brought more home!
All through out the conference I visited lots of different booths that came for the expo, Laughing Cow Cheese, Soy Joy, Reebok, Blue Diamond and more! Love meeting companies that care!
{Photo Courtesy of Tina}
One of the evening we were there, we had cocktails at the Noble Rot where we met the lovely ladies of Porter Novelli, a PR agency who manages The Laughing Cow, SOYJOY, and Nature Made accounts. I loved chatting with all the lovely bloggers and meeting so many new blends!
Me, Charisa, Heather, Gina, Tina
and my new BFF Kasey!
We also did a bit of shopping
and then killed a 6am BOOTCAMP class in the main square!
The session was hosted by a trainer named Erin who is actually pregnant – and she still kicked our booties! She was great – really high energy and fun.
![]()
as if an hour boot camp class wasnâ€
t enough I headed over to the hotel to do some Cardio Dance and an hour of Zumba!
The Cardio Dance class, hosted by Reebok and led by a woman named Patricia Moreno, she was really inspiring! She had us speak the mantras below as we sweated our tushys off!
“You are powerful beyond measure. You are stronger than you seem. You are braver than you think. You are blessed with all you need. You are enough. You have enough. You are programmed for victory. Your persistence pays off. All negative thoughts stop right now. I am done complaining. I am now celebrating. I am inspired to be the best that I can be. And I now believe that I will succeed.â€
I also got to meet one of my favorite fitness BLOGGERS EVER!!!! MIZFIT! She is so beautiful and it was such a JOY to finally get to meet her.
I also went to quite a few really helpful workshops:
1. Building your blog through organic SEO and image optimization presented by Nicole Bullock,
2. Writing the Perfect Pitch run by Kymberly Williams-Evans, Alexandra Williams, Jamie Walker, Margo Donohue
3. Optimizing Your Post-Game Nutrition with Wendy Bazilian, DrPH, MA, RD
4. How to Create a Media Kit that Showcases Your Brand and Gets Companies Knocking on Your Door run by Erica House, Shannyn Allan, and Annabel Adams
5. Getting Paid vs. Paying Blogger Dues led by Leah Segedie
So much to learn! All of the sessions got me pumped about blogging more frequently and really expanding my personal training business! We finished the amazing weekend with a farewell 10k, where I preceded to trip and leave with a fun new scar
It was so great running with Jill, so excited to connect with other passionate fitness professionals!
What an amazing conference! I canâ€
t wait to go back next year, I think I kind of love Portland!

]]>Some friends were so sweet to treat us to a lovely dinner at a fun new restaurant in town called Rok N Fondu. We started with a beer, garlic and sharp cheddar cheese fondu! Loved every bite (but my tummy not so much).
For my main course, I went with the Ahi Tuna! Best part was, we got to cook it ourselves on this super hot VOLCANO rock! Pretty cool right?
…but dessert by far was the best part! Chocolate and Peanut butter fondu?!! YES PLEASE!!!
As if one amazing night out to dinner wasnâ€
t enough, I was so blessed to be invited by the awesome CHOBANI team to a wonderful A yogurt-inspired menu hosted at Hatfields in LA! Finally got to wear this darling shirt and scarf I have had in my closet for months.
5 COURSE meal?!! YA baby!
Each course was paired with a wonderful splash of wine.
Megan and I got there a little early and enjoyed a little cocktail hour before the party started!
By far my favorite courses were the Raw Marinated Kanpachi! Loved the herbed yogurt!
The butternut squash soup was phenomenal! Loved the big dollop of Chobani!
I had the vegetarian option of a crepe stuffed with some kind of barley, it was yummy! Loved the beets and roasted veggies on the side.
THE SHOCKER of the evening was the dessert! I normally donâ€
t like anything that doesn’t have chocolate in it, but this meringue lemon tart was so mouthwatering, I ALMOST licked the plate!
It was such a lovely evening! I met so many wonderful bloggers and got to catch up with some old blogger friends!! THANK YOU Chobani for such a lovely evening, I canâ€
t wait to do it again!
When I got home, I found Mr. Bosco keeping my side of the bed nice and warm. He was so sweet to stay up and wait for me ![]()
Even though I got to bed at nearly midnight, some how I found the energy to hit the gym at 6am! My first week of Stage 3 of NROL is going well
I love being a morning person again!
I wore my new Ellie tank top and LOVED it! At first I thought it was going to feel to tight, but it wasnâ€
t at all. The fabric is not spandex, but cotton and super breathable! I love the grey and I love that it is so slimming.
Friends if you havenâ€
t heard of the new Ellie line, you should go check it out! I just added a banner on the side of my blog—-> so that you can order your first outfit for 20% off!!
I am sad I have to cancel my 5am Friday Fun RUN tomorrow, but itâ€
s supposed to rain and this girl doesn’t run in the RAIN!!
P.S. Last day to enter my Scale GIVEAWAY!!! I will pick a winner tomorrow!!!

Have you heard of the new Ellie line?
Do you eat Chobani yogurt?

Now I think I owe you my final recap of the Foodbuzz Fest as well as some WINNERS!!! If you missed my first post on the start of the festival you can check it our here.
On Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to the Fairy Building, my most favorite part of San Fran! Of course our first stop was BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE CO!!! Best coffee on the planet, made when you order, heaven will serve coffee like this!
For breakfast we walked around the Farmers Market and I ordered a green juice and had a huge breakfast egg sandwich with apple wood bacon (the only time I eat bacon).
We also go the pleasure of touring the TCHO test kitchen. Itâ€
s a newer upcoming chocolate factory that has some pretty amazing chocolate.
We totally look like tourists ![]()
We had the joy of wearing hair nets, no hair in the chocolate!
Have you ever seen a cocoa beans?
Our awesome tour guide. Did you know your not supposed to chew chocolate?! Yep, just let it melt in your mouth ![]()
Finally got to meet the Love KARA!!! We are IG buddies!
Hello Fall!
Bought my first Frog Hollow Farms Pear! It was $3!!! AND WORTH EVERY PENNY. The softest, sweetest, and juiciest pear I have ever sunk my teeth into!
The girls and I did a fun little Farmers Market Scavenger hunt put on from Foodbuzz.
Then it was TASTE PAVILLION testing time. A lot of local companies come and show off all their wonderful products for all of us foodies to get our tastes buds going!
I was happy to see my favorite wine from Cupcake Vinyards!
and so many other wonderful VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE foods!
The biscuits from a local food truck were a BIG HIT!
Cook Real Simple Delicious soups were on my top favorites! They actually sent me some samples and I will be reviewing soon!
and as always the cupcakes were beautiful as always!
Another favorite was JUST PURE FOODS!! All of their vegan dehydrated chips were flipping amazing!
After the wonderful expo we headed to the local mall and got our makeup done for the Gala.
Love having a reason to wear a dress
The gala was a the most beautiful location., the San Francisco Aquarium.
We were greeting with more cocktails ![]()
and lots of appetizers.
Then it was dinner time!
I enjoyed a little bit of everything ![]()
The best part of the entire trip was hanging out with bloggers/friends and just catching up on life!

————————————————————————————————————————
Thank you all for still reading even though I have been off the map for a bit!
I am back and better then ever! I am actually working on an awesome idea for this years HOLIDAY SHRED THAT WILL GO UP REALLY SOON!!!!!! I CANâ€
T WAIT TO SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL!
WOW, what an amazing weekend I had in San Francisco at the Foodbuzz Festivals . Itâ€
s something I look forward to ALL year long! To see a recap of my past two Foodbuzz Festivals, check them out here and here. This was my 3rd, Foodbuzz Festival and it was a little different, then the others, but still so much fun!
Who doesn’t enjoy a girls get-away that involves chocolate, wine, food, and makeovers?!!
Thursday night we got in late to San Fran and because I have taken all week off of running (do to a pulled back muscle) the 4 mile run on Friday morning was PERFECT! Melissa and I along with Meganâ€
s hubby crushed it and it felt great to sweat again! Also, I am so loving my Mizuno Running SHOES!
When we got back home we got dressed and headed out for an afternoon of wine tasting!
Emily from Newlywife works at a local Winery, ConCannon Vineyard in the SF area and invited us to come tasting. The roomies!
I really enjoyed the ConCannon Vineyard and even bought a Cab to try at home!
We headed outdoors to the restaurant on site, it was so beautiful!
Meganâ€
s Mom was our DD ![]()
We ordered a pitcher of their Sangria to share and some delish Tapaâ€
s! I am so recreating this Sangria: Cupcake Riesling, pineapple juice, a little rum, and Sprite.
As you can see we hated it all ![]()
Next up was the Ruby Hill Winery.
We tried out a few more wines here, again, and I enjoyed the Syrah the best! I got a bottle for our trip to Hawaii and a bottle of their Port for Hubby!
The wine sellers were so nice and just a fun to chat with!
Of course we had to take some shots with the vineyards themselves.
Then we were off on the Bart to the Cocktail hour at the Sir Frances Drake Hotel!
We checked in and got official.
Then on to the cocktail hour. Their featured drinks were a Hibiscus Martini and some fruity peach AMAZINGNESS that I enjoyed! I always stick to wine, so I thought I would get out of my comfort zone and try some more fruity drinks (heck I was on vacation).
They also had a lot of small plates for us to enjoy as well.
I had a couple of plates filled with all sorts of goodies, the tofu was my favorite.
After we got our little start of drinks and apps, Foodbuzz gave us each $50 to spend at a local restaurant. At this point my camera died, so sadly I have no pictures of our evening at the Jardinière Restaurant. Her restaurant is very classy and I was excited to try out the Sea Bass on the menu as it is my favorite fish in the world! But sadly I was disappointed and I wish I had ordered the rabbit! None the less the experience was wonderful and I loved that we all got to enjoy a night out on the town!
Lots more to come, but for now I have to get my butt to the gym to burn off the extra 10,000 calories I consumed this weekend ![]()
I honestly got exactly what I went for, met some awesome people who have the same passions as I do for fitness, food, blogging and all things health.
Here are just a few of the other things I took away:

If you want want to know more about the #FHBC12 weekend:
Thank you Wellsphere for sponsoring my trip to #FHBC12! And thank you FitFluential for allowing me to be part of a great panel of speakers! And thank you to the the Anschutz Health & Wellness Center and Zephyr Adventures for a great conference! I can’t wait to go back next year!!!Â
