Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

It was quite the EVENTFUL weekend over at the McCormick’s, that a weekend recap just had to be written. Oh and it RAINED all weekend, which is crazy talk for southern California.

On Friday I did the 16.2 workout at the new Crossfit gym I am working at. I innocently signed up for the Crossfit Open, because one of the coaches said even if your not super competitive and just want to do it for fun, sign up. So I thought…why not?! Oh man are these workouts kicking my butt, but in a good way. I only go to Crossfit about twice a week and I am not gonna lie I choose the days where there is mostly HITT workouts and running, not a huge fan of snatches and overhead squats. The 16.2 workout was actually a lot of fun (well fun from a trainer doesn’t mean anything). There was toes to bar, double unders, and squat cleans (I finished with a 95 pound squat clean which is a PR for this girl). I got a whopping 262 reps, which I was proud of but walked away with a gnarly blood blister.

IMG_7325

Friday night I also had a GNO! It had been too long since I had just gone out with the girls. We grabbed taco’s and wine at the local Winery that I am a member of. I know weird combo, but it’s cheap and yummy! We ended up meeting up with my parents and finished the evening with a little karaoke, it was a lot of fun!

IMG_7350

IMG_7357Saturday was DAY ONE of potty training!!!! (see I need the night out before the craziness started). We did the three day method where you don’t leave the house, you don’t use pull-ups and you use the reward system. I am going to do a full post on that soon. The first day RJ had a lot of accidents, but now we are on day three and she’s got it!! We haven’t left the house yet and I am a bit nervous about that.

IMG_7374

Sunday I got to escape from the potty training mahem for a couple hours and did the Run Through Redlands Half Marathon with my beautiful client Lauren. She has been doing my bootcamp for about three months now and we have been running a couple Fridays together. I haven’t run more than 6 miles this past year, but I have been doing SPIN and running for me is more mental than anything so I wanted to pace her and enjoy the run. It rained the WHOLE TIME and was super windy, but we had a great race and the best part was she felt amazing the whole time!!! I can honestly say I am not sore today at all thanks to the Catalyst from Advocare I have been taking!

IMG_7380

After the race I enjoyed my favorite local breakfast, breakfast tacos at Olive Avenue Market.

IMG_7383

The rest of the day was spent potty training and relaxing with the family and there may have been a couple glasses of CHARD enjoyed as well as a cheesy movie or two.

IMG_7388

I am excited for this new week! I have a whole new group of 24 Day Challengers starting for the month of March and they are going to do awesome! I have a full recap of my thoughts on the 24 Day Challenge as well as my results. We got a full new shipment of supplements this weekend and I am not sure who was more excited, me or RJ?!

Question: What was the highlight of your weekend?

2016 Goals https://www.bobbimccormick.com/2016-goals/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/2016-goals/#comments Sun, 03 Jan 2016 17:50:37 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=35301 Good evening friends. I can’t believe we are entering in to 2016! I am not sure how I feel about my baby girl turing three this year, her crib turning into a bed, this blog turning 8,  I am turing 34, we are gonna be married 9 years, have owned our home for 8 and Bosco is turing 9!!! Seriously slow down time already!

I don’t have a whole lot of 2015 goals to look over, cause I just didn’t make them. I love choosing a word for the year (didn’t choose one last year), but I have prayed about it for this year and this year my word is WHOLEHEARTED. My prayer is that I may show the love of God wholeheartedly on a daily basis, so that others see the hope and joy of our Lord through me. I also pray that I do ALL things whole heartedly and with great passion, even cleaning the toilets (ok maybe not cleaning the toilets)!

2016wordoftheyear

The Hub’s and I on our way home from AZ last week talked about our family goals for 2016 and I didn’t have a huge peace about any of it. I am not someone that worries about the future, I just pray and move forward. But things are moving quickly right now, in a good way and I feel like I can’t even slow down to really set goals. So I prayed and I am still praying..

But I am making my goals …right now…because goals are good and I love looking back on them at the end of the year. Without goals I lose focus, shoot I don’t have my new Erin Condoron Life Planner for next year yet and I am feeling a bit lost (true story).

GOALS FOR 2016:

Physical

  • Do one half marathon and one triathlon this year! My full marathon days are put on hold right now, I just don’t have the time or energy to train.
  • YOGA! You guys I am the worst at stretching, I really need to figure out how to get Yoga back into my life. It just needs to happen. I may just start doing the 21 Day fix yoga DVD once a week.

Business

  • Only post to Instagram twice a day max. I have slowly been cutting back on my posting, it will get easier 😉
  • Get my blog design finished!
  • Add at least two more designs to the Refresh Attire shop.
  • Blog post three times a week, one workout, one clean eat, and fun.
  • Host a Refresh Summit in the South and West this year.
  • Grow and maintain Bobbi’s Bootcamp throughout the year.
  • Unplug from 10-12pm and 3pm-8pm
  • Get REFIT Certified.

Spiritual

  • Start attending BSF to dig deeper in God’s word.
  • Write to my brother every week.
  • Pray with my Husband/RJ every night or morning

Mommy /Wifey Goals

  • Work on my tonality and how I react to the Hub’s and RJ.
  • Do one craft/lesson with RJ a week.
  • Make our family nutritious meals with lots of variety.
  • Encourage my husband daily.
  • SAVE SAVE SAVE! Find ways to save in all areas of our budget.
  • More shopping on TARGET online with the Red Card so that I don’t buy things I don’t need.
  • Every month pick a room to de-clutter, hello KonMari everything!!
  • More oils less meds.

Well I have written them out, now I need to make a plan of action for them to come true. I want more than anything for this to be a year that we spend more time with each other at home. We love being out and traveling together and I am sure we still will. But I want our home to be a place where we find rest in the chaos of this beautiful life!

Question: Are you making New Year’s goals this year?

Healthy Home Dinner Party https://www.bobbimccormick.com/healthy-home-dinner-party/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/healthy-home-dinner-party/#comments Tue, 06 Oct 2015 21:34:52 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=35131 Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

This past weekend I gathered twelve of my closest girlfriends (my little women tribe) around my dinner table for a “Healthy Home Dinner Party”. I don’t know about all of you, but I am pretty sure I get invited to some kind of multi-level marketing party every other day. Don’t get me wrong I am all for helping out my friends make some extra money on the side, hello we live in CALIFORNIA, I just don’t have the time to go to all of them. But I want to support my friends that are working hard and promoting products that I truly believe in and use myself. If it’s anything to do with health, simplifying life, making life easier or helping others, I am all in.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Well that is how my Healthy Home idea was born and it was a way to have the perfect girls night in 😉  I invited a few local ladies who’s businesses I truly support, to share their passions with my friends over a four course dinner. Cause everything is better with food and wine right?!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

I invited my best friend Ginger with Crafted Gatherings  @craftedgatherings to come over and do the fall tablescape for our dinner and once again she did a fabulous job! I feel like we could have had a wedding reception in my dining room. It was perfectly fall and welcoming, better than I could have ever imagined.

Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 2.15.16 PMIMG_1064

We started the evening with a little yoga in my garage lead by my beautiful friend Heidi that works at a local yoga studio in town. It was the perfect way to kick off the evening!

IMG_1095

Then it was time to enjoy some food. I invited my friend Justine Campbell from @alowellness who is an R.D. and Holistic Nutritionists to help me prepare a four course healthy and delish dinner! It was so fun cooking with her in the kitchen and learning some fun new recipes. We paired each meal with a wine and everything tasted amazing.

As we sat around the table we played a few fun games to get to know each-other a little better, because it’s always fun to have prizes at a party! I found these two games on Pinterest.

IMG_1075

In between courses we enjoyed a little very casual chat about oils from my friend Cynthia @kitchenblogger (go follow her on IG) and she was burning Young Living’s seasonal scent throughout the house the whole time and it made me want to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee and just get cozy.

Lastly we heard from my friend and business partner Megan, @themegababe about Norwex cleaning supplies, if you haven’t heard about them you are missing out big time and they have changed my life!

IMG_1128

We finished the evening talking around the table till 2am! It was truly a beautiful refreshing time of being still and chatting about all things LIFE and health. I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful night and I am already planning our next Spring one!

Question: What is the last multi-level marketing party you went to?

My Summer Reading List https://www.bobbimccormick.com/my-summer-reading-list/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/my-summer-reading-list/#comments Thu, 23 Jul 2015 14:24:17 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=34790 This summer I have been reading some really great and challenging books. I gave up watching television at night in May and that has been HUGE for me to get back into reading! I really love to read, but wasn’t finding the energy or the will power to dive in. Watching mindless TV (which is nice sometimes) sounded much better. For some reason every summer I get on a reading kick and crave a god book.

Here are five new books for you to dig in the summer/fall (depending on how fast you read). I have read or am reading all five of these books and I highly recommend.

summerreadinglist

#1. The Best Yes by Lysa Terkurst: Making wise decisions in the midst of endless demands. Sometimes we have a lot of good yes’s and this book as well as scripture really helped me to decipher the BEST YES!

#2. Radical by David Platt : You have heard be talk a lot about this book. It has really messed me up this summer in an amazing way! Nothing like being truly challenged in your faith and daily life.

#3. Let’s All Be Brave by Annie F. Downs: Such a great read on living  life with everything you have!

#4. Made to Crave by Lisa Turkerst: Since reading this book, my outlook on how I see food has changed so much. Eating for nourishment and eating food for what it was meant for! Also shows you that you were truly made for more.

#5. More or Less by Jeff Shinnabarger: Choosing a lifestyle of excessive generosity! I haven’t started this one, but I have heard amazing things about it and I can’t wait to jump in.

Question: Is there a book you’re reading that you love?  I’d love to hear about it!

Creating the Vintage Farm House Look {Tips} https://www.bobbimccormick.com/creating-the-vintage-farm-house-look/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/creating-the-vintage-farm-house-look/#comments Mon, 08 Jun 2015 23:30:09 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=34614 I have gotten the remodeling bug again! Starting to mix things up a bit for a bit of change. I got into this mode last July too, it must be the summer that brings it out in me. We don’t like to spend a lot of money on furniture or home pieces, we would rather spend money on experiences rather than things. But it is amazing what you can do on the cheap if you do it your self and get super thrifty.

The area in our house that I have been putting a lot of effort into is our dining room (still). It’s where we spend a ton of our time, gathering for meals, reading, enjoying coffee/a glass of wine, and these days with my brother staying with us for a bit it’s where I tend to work. I have always loved the homeyness of a farm house kitchen and since our home is older and charming it does fit the style of our home perfectly! You can see my July post for my inspiration.

Here is what we started with:

A little more modern and a bit too cluttered, still loved it all for a season.

20140715-112624-41184460

Then we started the makeover to more “Vintage Farm House” last summer:

We switched my parents for a more “Farm House” table that we still have big plans for.

20140715-112627-41187224

Since then we have done quite a bit:

IMG_1059

1. New to us wine rack (Ikea) from our parents that we will paint and re-do.
2. Are rug from Marshall’s.
3. White old chairs that I spray painted white.
4. A coffee rack that I recently got from Hobby Lobby.
5. Fun new picture wall gallery that I am about to change.
6. New white shear curtains from Walmart that were a whole $6 a panal. Love the way the light shines in more now!
7. New light fixture.
8. Adding planks to the table top for a more rustic flavor and painting the legs of the table to match the chairs.

ourvintagefarmhouse

I just love this new coffee corner, it turned out just the way we wanted!

IMG_0458

cozycoffeebar
Here is what our chairs that I bought from a friend for a whole $25 for 5, looked like before. I didn’t even sand the chairs, just spray painted about two coats with white indoor spray paint.

Screen Shot 2015-06-08 at 5.41.22 PM
Looks even cuter with RJ sitting in it 😉

Screen Shot 2015-06-08 at 5.41.39 PM

This month on the DIY docket:

1. Paint walls grey. I love this color from @alongthedirtroad.

IMG_0807

2. Making a gallery wall with much bigger frames and pieces.
3. Painting our buffet, not sure what color yet.
4. Painting and hacking our wine bar.
5. Updating the fireplace cover.

YAY for summer projects!

Question: What is one thing in your house that you are dying to makeover?

Thoughts on Turning 33 https://www.bobbimccormick.com/thoughts-on-turning-33/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/thoughts-on-turning-33/#comments Tue, 28 Apr 2015 19:01:34 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=34533 Hi Friends,

It’s been a while and I miss ya’ll!

We just got back from a family vacation to visit some dear friends in Hawaii for my birthday and I also just got back from the most amazing time at Choose Joy Event (an adoption and infertility conference) I spoke at. I have two very fun posts on each of those things coming, but first let’s chat about getting older and wiser (ok maybe not the wiser part) first.

Screen Shot 2015-04-28 at 11.43.23 AM

Yep, this year I turned 33 a fun age to be. I have had this blog for almost 8 years and I feel like I have learned so much from each of you and from myself. This year I am embracing my age! Grabbing all that I have learned and running!  I used to think that 35 was SO OLD (haha), but honestly I have never felt younger and more alive. I feel so FREE in who I am, in who God has created me to be and what the future holds. I used to analyze everything and make these huge plans for the future (I still dream for sure). But now days, I soak in each moment I am alive in each day. I still have my little check lists, but I don’t place so much pressure on myself as much as I used to.

I don’t know how much time I have here on this earth and I sure don’t want to waist any of it with my OCD tendencies or worrying. I still think about fun things for the future and plan a little, but I am not wrestling with things the way I used to. I am standing with my arms open to whatever God has in store for my life. I have seen God take care and provide for me/us more than I/we could have ever imagined! I know I couldn’t have understood this 10 years ago and that’s why I think age really can make life a lot more fun and free!

So 33, I welcome you with open arms and even am excited about growing up and growing older!

Question: What age did you used to think or still think is old??

I Needed A Spring Break {Family} https://www.bobbimccormick.com/i-needed-a-spring-break/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/i-needed-a-spring-break/#comments Mon, 30 Mar 2015 20:41:04 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=34462 You know, it’s funny how we grow up for over 16 years of our lives getting used to a “Spring Break”. Two weeks to not think about school work, we get time to play in the sun and spend time with our friends. Then we grow up and realize that we don’t always get a spring break anymore…that’s what we call vacation. Well I needed a Spring Break these past two weeks. I needed time to re-charge, refocus and not spend too much time on the computer. It was a roller coaster of a break, but it was a good one.

It was a great break, filled with some sadness due to some hard news about a family member. That’s life though, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Life gets sad and hard sometimes and it’s in the thick of it that you either fall down and crash or rise up and trust God more than ever. So right now, I am choosing to trust God even through the tears. I can’t and won’t be able to see the end of this hard time, but I do know that God get’s the glory and final say in it all.

Ok, enough of the sadness….on to the JOY!

IMG_9435

These past two weeks have been also filled with fun times as well. We went to Spring Training to see some awesome Baseball teams play in Arizona as well as spend time with my Brother and family. This is our fourth year going and this time RJ wasn’t sitting so much so it was a whole new experience. None the less fun, but just a little adventurous (aka crazy).

IMG_9177

We also grilled out again on our back patio and even had some fancy drinks (recipes to come).

IMG_9546

I love the California Spring weather, not to hot…and so NOT to cold! It’s the perfect weather to go on evening bike rides to the market with the family to pick up dinner and not SWEAT to death up the MASSIVE hill we have to climb back to our house.

IMG_9541

I also spent some time in San Diego with my beautiful BLEND Amanda and got in my first 8 mile run in, in a long time! I love San Diego so much and 8 miles sure goes by fast when you have so much life to catch up on with a good friend. I saw the movie McFarland over my “Spring Break” as well and it was SO GOOD! SO INSPIRING!  I think I liked it even more, because once upon a time I was a Cross Country Coach. I kinda really want to coach again!!! It also made me want to run a lot more too! So get ready for some fun new training tips. I think I am going to start a new blogging series called “Run Bobbi Run”. What do you think?

IMG_9464

I love blogging and although I am not the best at keeping it updated and posting all the time. I thank you all for continue to be there and read! Thanks for reading my shenanigans, fun recipes, mommy moments, coffee dates, and workouts to come! Oh and guess what? SUMMER SHRED is coming SOON (where did the year go?)!!!

P.S. How cute is her new smile?! CHEEEESE!

2014 Year In {Review} https://www.bobbimccormick.com/2014-year-in-review/ https://www.bobbimccormick.com/2014-year-in-review/#comments Thu, 22 Jan 2015 20:50:30 +0000 http://www.bobbimccormick.com/?p=34185 I know it’s a little late for the great 2014 recap! But better late than never. I love documenting all the wonderful and not so wonderful things that took place in 2014. It was an amazing year of blessing and some hard things happened too. I am human and believe me life isn’t always perfect. I am excited about 2015, because this year I want to really embrace being a mother. I know I have been a mother for over 16 months now (crazy) and the Hubby and I even high fived each other on keeping RJ alive for 16 months! But I have been going through the motions a lot this past year (soaking RJ up for sure), but now that she is getting to an age where she absorbs EVERYTHING, it’s time to get intentional. Not pinterest and list intentional, but hands on one on one intentional. What does that mean? I wish I could tell you. But I know that I want to help my daughter grow into the beautiful and brave little girl that he has created and through daily prayer and his wisdom I am sure I will figure it out (or not).
