Hello Friends!
It has been almost 6 months since I have done a “Day in the Life Of†post and they are one of my most favorite posts to write. Our lives look quite different (in a good way) here in Arizona. If you have been following for a while you know that one of the biggest reasons we moved to Arizona was because we wanted more US and less HUSTLE and we are getting there. Can you believe RJ is almost 3 and half?! I sure can’t! I love, love, love this stage.
Alright so here is a typical (about to get real) what a day looks like!
6:30am-7:00am//Â I smell the coffee pot brewing down stairs and I climb out of my warm cozy bed and head downstairs to pour myself a cup and have some sweet sweet time alone with Jesus. I have been going through the Beatitudes devotional with She Reads Truth and it is reminding me of what our calling as Christians is.
7:30am//RJ wakes up and comes down stairs, jumps in my laps and asks me to snuggle. BEST BEST part of the day. I love that she is such a happy girl when she first rises. I then make her breakfast, eggs, waffles and blueberries or oats and nut butter. Sometimes she gets cereal when we are on a time crunch. I make my eggs and avocado sammie and we eat at the table and wait for Daddy to give us kisses goodbye for the day. He is not a breakfast eater.
9 am//Â We start to get ready for the day and get in the car to head to the gym. We found a gym out here that we both love. The classes are so fun and RJ loves the childcare. I normally do weights, a run (listening to the Revelation Wellness Podcast), or spin class for an hour. Sometimes I take other fun classes like POUND or ZUMBA. The variety is awesome. We also go to a Revaluation Wellness Bootcamp once a week around the same time.
10:30am// If were not headed home right after the gym we are running an errand to the grocery store, park play date, library or a fun outing to seek adventure. There is so many fun things to do with kids here in Arizona, even the mall has a wonderful indoor playground that RJ could play at for hours.
12:30pm// Head home for lunch. I usually make a salad for me and RJ gets a plate of veggies, fruit and something with cheese. She is not a picky eater at all and I am blessed for that, that is for sure! Then she plays outside for a bit. UM THE WEATHER HERE IS AMAZING!!!! (yes I am yelling)
1:30pm // QUIET TIMEÂ If RJ isn’t going to nap, this is a solid 1.5 hours of RJ playing quietly in her room or play room while I catch up on blogging, chores, or sit and read. I need this time to recover from the busy morning and it’s great independent play time for RJ.
3pm//Â PLAY PLAY PLAY! RJ and I play everything from dress up to tea parties with her princesses. We also love games, puzzles, painting and reading. I love this age, because there is so much we can do togther. It’s tiring in the best kind of way.
4:30pm// We start to make dinner, if RJ is not in the mood to help (it’s hit and miss) this is her screen time. She gets to pick an episode of her favorite Disney Junior show (Sophia the first or Alannah of Avalor) while I work on getting dinner ready.
5:30pm// Dinner is on the table and DADDY IS HOME!!!! I love it when he gets home and RJ wants to always hide from him and surprise him. I am pretty sure it’s the highlight of his day as well. She will pop out and say surprise and then run and kiss him.
6pm//Â We eat at the table. This is is big for us! We use to want to do this all the time, but with me teaching at night and a toddler that would struggle to sit with us at the table it just didn’t happen as much as we would have liked. Now we only have one night where we don’t eat together and that’s when Hubby plays softball, which I love!
7pm//Â Hubby and RJ play while I clean up the kitchen and relax a bit. I may or may not secretly love doing dishes quietly in the kitchen with my iPad on catching up on Podcasts 😉
7:30pm//Â RJ gets a bath, we take turns on who does the night time routine. That way we each get a little down time as well as the snuggles with our sweet girl. After bath, we read RJ a book, sing her Jesus Loves Me, pray, and then lights out between 8 and 8:30pm.
8:30pm// Hubby and I watch our new favorite show together Black List and have US time!
10:30pm// Lights OUT! I need a good 8 hours of sleep to full function….plus I HATE setting ALARM! I haven’t set one in 3.5 years, RJ is my alarm and I hope it stays that way for a while.
Well that is our day in a nut shell, minus a few potty breaks, snacks and time-outs I am sure.
Question: What is your normal bed time?Â
