Good Eats!

Tonight I started trying to find some new yummy protein snacks to add to my daily diet…here is what I have come up with so far:)
Oatmeal Pancake
with Mashed Banana

1/3 cup Quaker quick oats*
1/3 cup egg whites (the kind in the carton is best since there’s no onion powder in it like EggBeaters – ewwww)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon to taste
Optional: 1/2 a mashed banana or 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
Toppings to taste

Goddess Granola

3 cups rolled oats (quaker is fine)
2 cups chopped raw almonds
2 cups chipped raw cashews or hazelnuts
2 cups salt-free roasted sunflower seeds
1/4 cup honey or agave nectar
1/2 cup wheat germ
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
2 tsp cinnamon
1.5 cup diced dried fruit
1. Preheat the oven to 350. Mix together all ingredients except for the fruit in a large bowl and toss well.
2. Spread out on a baking sheet and bake for about 14 minutes, stirring a couple times throughout.
3. When its golden, take out of the oven and add the dried fruit.
This will keep for about long time in a tupperware container in the fridge and is great with milk, yogurt or straight out of your hand!!

A fresh yogurt shop in northern Cali called

Fraiche Yogurt

“The two owners, Patama Roj and Jessica Gilmartin, are long time friends who have a passion for great food. After traveling together in Europe, we were inspired by the use of simple, natural, local ingredients to make the most mouth-watering dishes. In particular, we were amazed at how different yogurts were abroad—thick, creamy, milky, and pretty indulgent even in its “plain” form. We believed that Americans were missing out and were excited to bring back yogurt in its traditional, homemade form: wholesome, delicious, and incredibly good for you!”
