Well last week I alluded to some really big news on the blog, the FINAL Summer Shred news and it was exciting, but that really wasn’t the BIG NEWS! Are you ready for this?

I know pretty crazy right?!

Let me give you a bit of background. I started working as a full time retreat coordinator at Forest Home back in 2009 and I absolutely LOVED EVERY minute of it! If you remember I was a teacher before I started my new job, you can read all about that transition here.

Honestly this was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make in a really long time. Like I said I love my job as a retreat coordinator, but I also LOVE being a personal trainer/blogger! Forest Home has been such a huge part of my life for the past 4 years, so I am not just leaving a job, I am leaving an amazing community! The Hubby will still be working there and I may go up and help out in some fun part-time areas here and there, but my full-time days are over.

I came to a place in my life where I was running around like a CRAZY women trying to balance being a wife, retreat coordinator, personal training clients,  hosting Shred Groups, the Blog, Starting the  Refresh Retreat (more info to come on that) and also starting an awesome apparel business with my good friend Megan!  Something just HAD to give.

I know that God is going to bless this journey and this season in my life as long as I just trust him and follow his leading. I can’t wait to help so many people get fit and healthy either in person or virtually! I have so many FUN IDEAS of things that I want to peruse in the fitness and health world and it was time to DREAM BIG AND STEP OUT IN FAITH! (obviously using wisdom as well, the bills will still be paid DAD).

I know a lot of other bloggers who have taken the big leap of faith to quit their full times jobs to peruse their DREAMS! Well friends, it’s MY TURN! Who knows what this really looks like, but I am so excited to be able to keep this momentum going in my fitness career and see what doors open from here on out! I am not thinking that everything will be easy, but who said life is?

I am super excited to start doing personal training FULL TIME and a lot more BLOGGING!!! I miss blogging recipes, workouts, fashion and fun. You will see a lot more BLOG posts and fun videos!

So….my last day at Forest Home will be July 5th, and then on to being my OWN BOSS and a soon to be stay at home mommy!

Time to get my home office ready Smile

Wow! What a big decision. You must be happy to have made it official. : )

I recently moved cities and left a job I LOVED (I was a teacher at an incredible elementary school). I still haven’t found a new teaching job in my current city, but instead of worrying about it, I’m trusting God. He has a plan for my career. For now, I’m a stay-at-home mom; in August, who knows!

Again, congrats on making a tough decision! Hope the last days at your job are meaningful.

Really excited for you. Like everyone else said, you will totally be a successful business woman because you have already proven that you are!

Congrats Bobbie!!I can’t wait to follow your new journey.Plus, you’re strong and eneregtic and full of ideas – the right person to be self employed…while others aren’t – think that you might have given someone of these “other people” a chance to express themselves (in your old job I mean. That being said, I’d apply, like, yesterday if I were living in the area, as I am one of these other people who can’t work on their own LOL)

    *hugs* and good luck!!

  18. Sooo Happy for you! Inspired!

Chad just said to some friends last night “We are weaning Lauren from working”. I am so thankful I only am back to nursing at the hospital one or two days a week but it’s slowly getting less and I am so happy about it. The Lord will truly bless whatever decision you make as long as it’s in His timing.

  24. Congrats lady! I think you are going to be able to still reach a lot of people with the new changes! Best of luck on working on your own 🙂

That’s great news! Wishing you success in this new chapter 🙂

  35. Congratulations Bobbi! I quit my full-time job to go freelance nearly four years ago and haven’t looked back since. I didn’t end up working less hours, but I work them when I choose to now, and have a better balance between work and the rest of my life. And I still go back to work at my old office sometimes, so I kept hold of my work ‘family’ too 🙂

You are such a talented coach and motivator, I’m sure you’ll be successful!

  38. Oh so happy for you, Bobbi! Such a wonderful time in your life and I am excited to follow you along with you journey!

Also, your words, “I know that God is going to bless this journey and this season in my life as long as I just trust him and follow his leading.” really resonate with me, as I’ve been spending this whole year trying to figure out my next career steps. It’s such a good reminder that it’s all in His hands.

  39. eeeek! that is so awesome! it is so funny, the other day I was thinking about you and wondering if you would be stopping your full time job since you have some much stuff going on on-line, with personal training and the adoption. So excited for you and your new journey. It is scary and awesome all at the same time!

  45. Yay that’s awesome! I just recently scaled back my job to 4 hrs a day 3 days a week to focus more on blogging and my job as a health & fitness coach too! Feels great huh?

  46. Hey Bobbi,
I am so happy for you. I was a full time teacher before I had my daughter and really struggled with if I should work or not after. I know for me it felt like a big leap of faith to leave my full time job but it was rewarding. Would love to get a stay at home business going.
You are so excellent at what you do. From someone who has done 2 rounds of mama shred with you – you are such an excellent trainer and motivator.
Wishing you all the best as you follow the Lord’s leading.

  47. i love that i got to know before the blog 🙂 very excited for you though I know you loved what you were doing there as well…sometimes we just know when change is needed
