I was a true So Cal Girl today and soaked up the sun!! Seriously got my tan on!
Today Hubby and I set out for a true adventure! Instead of taking our car to go play Ultimate Frisbee we decided in honor of the TSL to ride our bikes to the park and then ride the bus home. Itâ€™s a 10 mile bike ride their but mostly down hill, and all up hill on the way back.
I made sure to eat a sandwich before we headed out, and grabbed a bar in case I needed it after the ride.
The bike ride was wonderful, Hubby and I flew down the hill and Hubby kicked my butt on all the hills, he is one tough cookie! I got to wear my new helmet, loved it! Can you believe I used to not wear one around town, man I was ignorant.
Ultimate was a lot of fun, there are a lot of techniques and rules I learned today. I just loved that I burned some major calories while having a wonderful time. We caught the bus back and then road home another 2 miles.
I stole an orange off one of the orange groves next to the bus stop, shhhh donâ€™t tell:)
As soon as we walked in the door I was drinking water like a camel! I then made a quick new smoothie. It contained a 1/2 c of water, 1/2 c ice, some frozen berries, 1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein and 1 small TJâ€™s Vanilla Honey Greek Yogurt.
A little too frothy, but it hit the spot!
Then we hit the yard for some planting and creating. Hubby and I worked on our compost box made from scrap wood, and I planted some wild flower seeds in our front yard. I am posting all about the compost in the morning!

When I came in I decided to turn up the radio and get to cleaning! I cleaned the whole house top to bottom and made dinner in between. I just love cleaning on Sundays it always makes the week so much nicer. For dinner I decided to be creative with what we had in the fridge and made Tofu Fried Rice.
First I sautÃ©ed mushrooms, 1/2 an onion, and spinach. I used a little EVOO and some light soy sauce. While I was sautÃ©ing the veggies, the tofu was baking in a bbq marinade in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes (what can I say I love BBQ tofu). I added 2 egg whites and a 1/2 cup of WW Cooked Rice to to the veggie mixture and finished cooking.
A Vegetarian masterpiece! This was so delicious and full of flavor!
I am currently planning out the week. On Sunday evenings I love to prep for meals, get my workout schedule down, and now I am also trying to think of ways I can live a more simple life this week for TSL! Today I racked up the points.
1 point for riding my bike to the park
1 point for taking the bus
3 points for all home meals
1 point for building a compost
1 point for barrowing some old CDâ€™s from Hubbyâ€™s collection a instead of going out and buying new ones (I so want the new Lady Gaga CD).
