Adopting A Child

Hi friends! Sorry I have been MIA for a little while, life got in the way 😉

Yesterday my X-Country team had their third meet, it wasn’t our best meet but they all finished and had great enthusiasm .That’s all that matters in my mind!

Last night after the meet Sandra and I headed over to the World Vision Africa Exhibit.  After our 30 days of fasting and praying we had both learned so much and couldn’t wait for this visual experience. Words can not express the way I felt through these past 30 days. I have given up sleep, things, myself, shoes, food… but I have given up nothing in my life compared to the things that these children in Africa have to give up…

“The experience is a 2,500 square foot interactive exhibit that invites visitors to "step into Africa" by hearing, seeing and walking through an African village to personally experience the lives of children affected by AIDS. The stirring audio tour and captivating photography will transport you into the life of an African child and give you a new perspective on the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time… AIDS.”

As I walked through a life of a child I realized how different my life would be if I wasn’t born into a wealthy(anyone that make more then $1 a day in their minds is wealthy) family. I don’t live with the fear of not having food for a day, or not having people in my life that love me and care for me. I am not afraid of AIDS, it is not something that I worry about 24/7. My child did have to worry about all of these things. With God’s love they find hope and joy. With the help of people in America their physical needs are met, what can I do??

World Vision is amazing, they let you adopt a child from Africa by sending them what they need and send them letters. I am going to do this!!

After the Exhibit, Sandra and I went to Juice It Up for the first time to get a 100% juice smoothie.

Anyone have a good Gluten Free Fall Baking Recipe? I want to make something when we are up in our cabin. Oh and I found out that Big Bear is having an Oktoberfest! I might have to step off the detox for one good beer 🙂

See you all tonight!
