Whole Wheat French Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces 100% Whole Wheat Bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Butter for cooking
  • 100% pure maple syrup for serving

Directions

Cut the bread into desired shape (triangles).

Whisk together the eggs, cream or milk, cinnamon and vanilla in a shallow dish.

One-by-one dip the bread into the egg mixture until it is evenly coated on both sides. Let the excess run off before transferring the pieces to a plate.

If you have a griddle turn it to 325 degrees F. If you don’t have a griddle don’t fret…any old sauté pan will do. If using a pan place it over medium heat.

Melt a teaspoon or two of butter in your pan/griddle then add the first batch of battered bread. The key is for the finished product to be cooked all the way through by the time the outside turns brown so the heat should not be too high.

Cook until golden brown on both sides.

Serve warm with pure maple syrup and a side of fruit. Enjoy!

Now that you have fuel…why not get moving with this at home bootcamp!!!

Step 1: Jog in place for 2 minutes. A warm up helps to avoid injury while exercising and also helps you get into the right frame of mind for a workout. This will prepare your body for fat loss.

Step 2: Do 1 minute of squats. Squats are the most effective way to burn fat and tone your legs and butt.

Step 3: Complete 1 minute of push ups. Do whichever you can, “man” or “woman” push ups, but remember; do not rest between exercises.

Step 4: Start 2 minutes of lunges; 1 minute left leg, 1 minute right leg.

Step 5: Do a 1 minute plank.

Step 6:Complete 1 minute of a bicycle crunch.

Step 7: Do 2 minutes arm circles; 1 minute forward, 1 minute backward. This is a lot harder than it sounds. Straighten your arms so that they are horizontal with the floor, and start making circles. Imagine that you are outlining a circle the size of a basketball.

Step 8:Cool down and stretch for 2 minutes….OR, go through it again!

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!
