Feed Your Soul Tuesday: AN ATTITUDE OF GRATTITUDE

Last nights AKB class was HUGE! My class is always a good 10-15 people, but because it is an new year and people are joining our gym we had over 25 people for sure! It was so much fun having that many people there, the energy in the room was so high and people were making each other work harder. For a minute during class I kind of felt like a Bob-Jillian yelling at them, telling them to hit the bags harder!!! I love teaching kickboxing.

When I got home I made myself and AB and Banana sandwich, it was 9pm I wanted something easy. I also was greeted by a big hug and kiss from the Hubby who GOT THE JOB! So exciting, especially in a time like this where people are having a struggle with keeping there jobs. He starts Monday, this will be his first time not working from home in over 4 years! A new chapter in his life. I am going to have to make a lot of changes around here, because I am used to hubby being at home. If I need anything I can just call him and he can get it for me, but not now. It’s a great change and I am excited for us! Thanks for all your encouraging words!!!!

HER TRAINING

When I woke up this morning my left calf was killing me, it hurt a little yesterday, but I thought nothing of it. It must have been from the hour on the ET machine!!!! I was leery about running , but I got out there anyway.

Day 1 of Boston training:

Goal: 30-35 minutes easy Running, 3.5 miles

Stats:

  • Distance: 3.73
  • Time: 30:10
  • Avg Pace: 9:30 (right on target)
  • Max Pace: 7:06
  • Calories Burned: 410

At the beginning of the run my calf was sore and I was PISSED, I have been working so hard to keep my legs fresh and now my leg was hurting. But as I kept running the pain dulled, and then eventually went away. I have to say it was very challenging trying to keep a 9 minute pace, I kept speeding up and would have to tell myself over and over, EASY RUN!!!

HER BREAKFAST

Came home and made a quick bowl of oats.

The Mix-ins:

1/2 c oats
1/2 c H2O
1/2 Soy Milk (it was cheaper)

FEEDING YOUR SOUL

I want to share with you all something that spoke volumes to me this past weekend. It’s about having an ATTITUDE OF GRATTITUDE. I know that Thanksgiving is not too far behind us and already I have forgotten to be thankful for all I have. A persons attitude is a choice. You can have a thankful one, or an ungrateful one. I want to choose the thankful one, how do I do that?

It’s a building process not something that just happens in mere seconds. Think about all the small things that you can be thankful for, just getting out of bed is worthy of thankfulness, consider the alternative! One should be thankful to be ALIVE, life in itself is worthy of thankfulness. This is something that is based on REALITY and not the “power of positive thinking”. Despite our circumstances we have much to be thankful for.

There was a man named Robinson Caruso who was abandon by a plan crash on an island for 27 years. He had a choice to have an attitude of complaining or a thankful one. He had every right to complain but he sat down and wrote about all the things he was grateful for. Here is some things on his list; Thankful to be alive, not have drowned, for not having any cloths to wear because it was so hot, no need for weapons because there were no beasts….the list goes on and on. WOW this man is an inspiration…..I want to choose the attitude of gratitude, what do you choose?

P.S. Don’t forget to enter this weeks give away for Snacktrition samples! Oh and if you have already entered let everyone know on your blog and you can leave another COMMENT!!!! Last day is this FRIDAY!!!
