First Ocean Swim!!

I can’t believe I swam in the ocean today!!

This morning we got up early and headed to Corona Del Mar.My friends Justin and Ron came out with me 🙂 Corona Del Mar is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cali.

It has the perfect open swim spot. They have several bouies that mark out the perfect course. I swam 1.2 miles in 35 minutes which is the distance I’ll do in my race!!

I borrowed my “neighbors” wet suit and it really helped with the cold water, but felt really heavy! I need a Tri-Suit. I want to feel lighter and warmer.

At first I was really nervous. Was hoping not to be eaten by a SHARK or bitten by something else!! But after a 15 minutes of swimming I felt warmed up and I started to get used to being in the ocean. I sang prayers to God to get me through the time and before I knew it, I was finished!!! Must do again!

After our swim we took off for a 30 mile bike ride along the coast. It was super HILLY but beautiful!

Our ride took us about 2 hours 15 minutes averaging about 14mph..wow that’s fast for being hilly! The boys kicked my butt!!

After our ride we headed off to a birthday party where I ate like a mad women and made silly faces because I was exhausted!

Then swung by my favorite place 🙂

Now were headed home!! Can’t wait to sleep in my own bed, eat my normal foods and just curl up on the couch to some nonsense TV.
