Happy Memorial Day!
Yesterday was the perfect day for a BBQ! We had blue skies all around. I was afraid it might get too hot, but the temperature never went past 80!
We started with some yummy appetizers! I made deviled eggs and friends brought lot’s of other snacks.
We had chips GALORE, I helped myself to a few tortilla chips because the guacamole was out of this world. A friend bought it from a local deli, it was so fresh and I might have to say probably the best I have ever had!
We also have lot’s of veggies and fresh cut watermelon, a nice healthy option:) For the kid in all of us I had some assorted flavored Starburst Jelly Beans all around!
I stuck to the watermelon, and I wish I would have had more veggies but I was too busy talking away!
We made sure we had lot’s of waters and adult beverages. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!!
I drank plenty of water, and I also enjoyed a Miller Chill Light Beer with lime.
We played games while Hubby(AKA Grill Master) slaved away at the grill.
I stepped in to throw on the corn, and help out Hubby a little.
We had a little battle of the sexes going on!
Hubby won so I let him take over while I entertained:)
Well Bosco entertained and I set up the food table.
I set out all the fixin’s for the burgers and hot dogs. Hubby made me some turkey burgers and chicken too.
This is the best way to have a BBQ, you provide the main dish(hamburgers&hotdogs) and have everyone bring drinks, chips, sides, and dessert!! This made it a lot less stressful, and fun because you get a variety.
I made sure everyone filled up their plates, I wanted no leftovers in this house!! They sure did kill it!
D arrived and brought this yummy bottle of Gewürztraminer!!
I of course had to have some, I can’t believe I haven’t tried this wine before! I am not the biggest fan of white wines, but this one was very tasty.
My plate filled with all the must have BBQ essentials! Turkey Burger with Country Bob’s BBQ Sauce, baked beans(I made these in the crockpot) and cheesy corn!
The corn is so easy and sooo good .You take 1 stick of light butter, I used I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, and 1 packet of TJ’s mac and cheese powder and mix it together. You thn spread it on the uncooked corn and wrap it in foil and throw it right on the grill for 20 minutes turning every 5 minutes.
Of course it’s not a BBQ without DESSERT! My two friends, Carly and Katie brought some great sweets!
Katie blessed us with this amazing raspberry pretzel crusted pie! The bottom layer was a pretzel crust, the middle was a cool whip and cream cheese filling, and the top was a raspberry Jell-O with raspberries.
Carly brought us, Oatmeal White Chocolate and Dried Cranberry Cookies, I think they have crack in them, they are soooo addicting!!! I had a couple:)
After dessert we all sat around chatting away, and our big topic was about these flavored Doritos, “Late Night Taco’s at Midnightâ€. We all had to give them a try and they actually tasted like a TACO!!! This is just wrong!
We were being quite silly as you can see, and we were all sober, I think.
Wow it had been quite the busy weekend filled with pizza parties, bike rides, beach birthday bondfires, and BBQ’s! I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends, I know that good friends are hard to find and the Lord has given me some of the best!!
Today I have off, thank GOD!! I have so much to do, and another birthday party for my niece Breanne. She turns 7 today, she’s getting soooo big!
I am making her a picture of the two of us and baking her some cupcakes:) So I better get gowing before the morning passes me by!!
Have a Memorable Monday!
