Mizuno Wave Rider 18 {Review}

The following Mizuno Wave Rider 18 review is sponsored by Mizuno Running on behalf of FitFluential, LLC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This runner is back in the game! I just ran my first half marathon this past Sunday and it felt amazing to be back after taking an almost 5 month hiatus. (full blog post to come)

When I was given the chance to try out the new Mizuno Wave Rider 18’s to review, I was stoked. I have had a couple pair of Mizuno’s in my running career and they have always been a great shoe!

When I received the Mizuno Wave Rider 18 I threw them on and walked around Disneyland all day to break them in. I could already tell that they were going to be my new favorite shoe. Light and comfortable! They are a neutral shoe and have the perfect amount of cushion for this girl. Every Mizuno pair of shoes usually last me about 250-300 miles before they start to wear, that’s a lot! The 18’s are pretty true to fit and a lit more narrow, but fit like a glove.

They feature a 12 mm heel to toe drop which makes every run comfortable whether you are running downhill, flat or up hill. If you run with a heel strike these will help you improve your form. The shoe features a 12mm heel-to-toe drop and for women, weigh 7.8 ounces. The Wave Rider 18 has U4ic (pronounced “euphoric”) midsole – meaning that you can get more cushioning at less weight, which is a huge bonus!

Official SPECS:

  • MSRP: $119.99. They were Released Oct. 2, 2014
