Yoga Challenge Day 1

Welcome December and welcome first day of my 31 Day Yoga Challenge!!

This morning I woke at 5:30 am and decided to do Yoga with Dawnelle from Yogadownload.

The Yoga studio I go to is about 20 minutes away so I have to get up a little earlier then normal. I love it there, but I have to go down the hill for KB tonight so I thought I would save the trip and create my own little studio by the fireside.

I did the Power Vinyasa Flow #4 to get my blood moving. I have been pretty sore lately from doing weights and KB that I really needed to loosen up. My first downward facing dog was so tight, but about 5 minutes into my practice I felt so much loser. I love flowing power vinyasas it keeps my body moving.  The best part was corps pose at the end 🙂 It gives me time to start my morning with prayer.

It felt great! I have been trying to get up early and get in a good session and this was just the push I needed. Nothing like starting your day with some downward facing dog! Now let’s see if I can pull of another early morning on Friday!

Breakfast

A pretty bowl of apple cinnamon oats 🙂 I know Meghann would appreciate the snowflakes in this bowl! If I ever see another one I will send it your way!!!

THANKSGIVING CHALLENGE UPDATE

Let’s recap on what the challenge was:

Our goal is to spend less than $50 (or less) on groceries  through the rest of November!!!

The Thanks Giving

To express thanks for the food we do eat as well as increase awareness of hunger in the world, we are planning to donate 25% of what we DO spend to a local charity.

The Rules:
Whatever you have in your fridge and pantry on Nov. 17  is all fair game. I did not go the market this week.

The Goals
There are 3 goals of The Thanksgiving Challenge:

  1. Drastically cut back on our grocery bills and emphasize that some planning and shopping around can lead to significant savings.
  2. Eat down our fridge and pantry.

  3. Give thanks and raise awareness of the prevalence of hunger in this country and around the world.

So how did everyone do???

We ended up spending only $60 dollars to due some unexpected meals I had to bring for Thanksgiving. I saved so much on our grocery bill, we ate down our pantry, and we gave thanks for all that we had!! Mission accomplished. Plus I donated $25 to Nikki’s St. Jude Hero’s fundraiser. I know that is more then 25% but I truly believe in what St. Jude does!

HAPPY HUMPDAY!!!

Question: If you could cut back on one thing in your budget what would it be? Or what could you not cut back on?

  1. Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with someone!North Richland Hills Roofing, 6749 Manor Dr., North Richland Hills, TX 76180 – (817) 381-1700
