Yesterday the Hubs and I had a such a fun day playing with our dear friend Zach 🙂
When we arrived at French Camp (where he works) he took us to their Council House Cafe for lunch. The while town is very colonial style, as a History major I was so into it! It reminded me of the movie The Village.
Instead of bread or chips while we waited they served us pickles.
While we waited we admired the black cat with green eyes that was begging 😉
I ordered the half turkey sandwich with all the veggies.
It was LOADED!
Zach demanded that we have dessert as well 😉 Who can say no to this bread pudding?!
It was like a cinnamon roll, but so much better! We all split it and I sure had my share.
Then we loaded up in Zach’s little truck for a tour of the property.
This was not made for three people!
I had a huge helping of DEER!
and the forest was absolutely breath taking!
We ditched the mini truck and decided to do some 4-wheeling for the rest of the tour.
I am ready!
Next years Christmas card…
Or maybe we will use this one?! WEST SIDE gangstas!
The camp that Zach works at in the summers.
They have a huge water slide thingy?
Love that were such children 🙂
Then we watched the sunset on the dock.
Wait let me get higher.
Such a beautiful background!
As soon as the sun started to set I was freezing! So Zach took us to their B&B for a hot cup of coffee. I was excited to see it. Our dream is to own a B&B one day!
They just did some remodeling inside so it’s not as original as the outside.
I so want one of these for my birthday!
After coffee it was supper time! We went over (on our 4-wheels) to some of Zach’s friend’s house to eat some Camp Stew. It was a lot like a haystack, if you know what that is. It had beef, corn, cheese, potatoes, carrots, and tomato sauce. You put it on top of Fritos. It’s what they had at Camp when he worked as a counselor.
After dinner we headed over to Zach’s apartment and just relaxed! While we watched Modern Family Zach taught me how to make popcorn the old fashion way. Check out the video, it’s pretty funny.
We slept in this morning and are heading back to the FIL’s Farm for a little Christmas Celebration this afternoon and then back to Memphis tonight. It’s going to be one busy day. First I must hit the yoga mat!
Question: Have you ever made popcorn on the stove?
