On the Road Again

Good evening folks, it has been one heck of a FUN day!!

This morning we slept in until 7:30 and laid in bed reading until around 8. In my opinion this is one of the best ways to get up in the morning 🙂

When we finally did get up Hubby helped pump up my tires so I could take Easton on a beautiful morning ride.

I love that Ojai has some great bike trails. Some of the ride I had to be on a super narrow road, but I have become so comfortable on my bike that it doesn’t bother me anymore. I still make sure to use all hand signals and to make sure I look both ways 😉

I rode downtown about 6 miles and stopped at the Ojai Coffee Company.

It was filled with people on their laptops working as well as with folks just sharing a cup of joe with one another! I just adore coffee shops and everything that they are about.

I was even more happy that I got to ride my bike there!!! I need to do this more at home.

I ordered my most favorite breakfast of all time, Bagel and Lox! I don’t know what it is about the combination of smoked salmon and cream cheese but it makes my mouth water!

Of course I got a LARGE cup of their fresh brewed coffee and vanilla soy milk. I really enjoyed this coffee shop minus the HIGH sticker price. Good thing I enjoyed my breakfast because I ended up shelling out $14 for it!!!

When I got back to our casa I quickly showered packed up and then we were off for another 4-5 hours in the car to Monterey!

On the road again….lots of vineyards…and more vineyards…

Hubby and I stopped in Santa Barbara to grab a late lunch at my FAVORITE restaurant of all time, the Natural Cafe. I would own one of these if I could.

I ordered the Tempeh Tacos, read the ingredients..sounds good right?!

I also ordered a juice. Filled with beets, celery, and carrots. SO GOOD!

IMG_1701

I need to JUICE more!

IMG_1702

Out came my lunch and I was in awwwwwww!

IMG_1703

Look at that cooked Tempeh, fresh corn tortillas, sprouts and tomato sauce.

IMG_1705

Screaming nutritious!

IMG_1704

Plus organic flax chips.

IMG_1706

We hit the road again and then made one more pit stop at Pismo beach! We saw a Nike Outlet and I am on the hunt for a running outfit for Chicago, so we had to stop 🙂

IMG_1714

No luck in the running clothes but I did find some bathing suites for $9.99..but they were a fail. I hate the way one piece suits look!

IMG_1712

Look who we ran into??? My Aunt and Uncle are staying in Pismo for the week. Such a small world 🙂

IMG_1716

Back on the road.

IMG_1717

I ate some Mountain Trail Mix, while Hubby begged for his large Gummy Bear 😉

IMG_1722

I had a bite, tasted like pure sugar. If there is no chocolate, why bother?!

IMG_1724

Hubby enjoyed a few bites and then we saved the rest for later.

IMG_1726

More vineyards!

IMG_1727

And then we landed in Monterey where we thought a tornado was taking place!

IMG_1730

We made it safely to our hotel, where were pleasantly welcomed by DEER!

As soon as we checked in (at 8:30pm) we dropped off our bags and went out in search of a quick dinner spot. We were told to check out the Fishwife. It was really cute but closing so we ordered quickly!

I wasn’t very hungry so I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder and a glass of wine.

IMG_1741

Hubby had some chicken fingers and we split some house fries. This meal kind of reminded me of college, which made me smile 🙂

IMG_1737

At the table was a bottle of Turtle Bay Hot Habanera Sauce..tempting right? NOT!

IMG_1738

Hubby decided to give it a try. Love his face!!

IMG_1739

We are currently back our hotel, not to impressed, but we have a fireplace that works half of the time!! I think we both have decided to laugh at the situation and enjoy that we got it at a STEAL of a price 🙂

I am riding my bike to a Bikram Yoga class at 9am tomorrow. I love that I can get everywhere by bike around here!! The rest of the day will be filled with wine tasting, site seeing, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium!!

Question: While on vacation do you ever to find a fun class to attend like yoga or spinning??

I am going to try three new Yoga classes while I am out here and run with a new friend 🙂

Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was
extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips for first-time blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
