Hello, it’s Taylor from Taydor Tott! This should be titled why I’ve
ran ONE marathon and trained for another. My first marathon was the
Women’s San Francisco Nike marathon, and I was in the middle of
training for the San Diego Rock & Roll when I got injured last year.
I ran/will run marathons…
1. To prove to myself that I could do it. I originally planned to run
the half marathon, but then realized it wouldn’t be much of a
challenge. I was already doing 10-11 mile runs! I wanted something
that I had to work for!
2. Because I love the routine in training. I love having a routine
and a schedule. I love having something to work for. I love having a
specific number of miles that I’m supposed to run.
3. Because I love long runs. The runner’s high that comes with the
long run is irreplaceable. It’s such an amazing and accomplished
feeling to finish those long runs. And it’s a pretty cool thing to be
able to say "Oh, on my 20 mile run this morning…" ๐
4. I WILL run more marathons because my body WILL be able to. I’m
struggling through an (almost) year-long injury that has kept me from
running, and I’m determined to make it back to running one day. And
I’ll never take another run for granted. I’ll appreciate every
training run, and when I finished another marathon, I’ll know the
struggles I went through to get there. And I’ll love my body for it.
Thanks Bobbi!
