Happy Friday 🙂
This morning I got in a lovely 6 mile run. It was nice to just run and not care about my pace or time. Don’t get me wrong I love my tempo runs, but it’s nice to just run sometimes.
I made a lovely bowl of Muesli last night and couldn’t wait to enjoy it this morning.
Last night I mixed together:
- 1/2 cup old fashion oats
- 1/2 cup of Almond milk
- 1 cup frozen berries.
This morning I added in some Fage, Flax Seed, Honey, and a little Granola for crunch!
Muesli is one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast in the summer! I am getting excited that it is right around the corner 🙂
So last night and the night before, I told you all I had some exciting news to share with you all. Well I won’t keep you hanging in suspense any longer (no I am not pregnant Dad) I have decided to run the Chicago Marathon!!!
I have always wanted to do either the Chicago or NYC Marathon (hope to do NYC someday still) and I believe this is the year for Chicago. When my friend Jenny was down here last weekend she told me the course is fast and a lot of fun!! I also am excited, because I know Meghann is doing it as well, which means I will possibly have a running partner 😉
Not only am I going to run the Chicago Marathon, but I am going to do it for a CAUSE! Not just any cause, but for the St. Jude Heroes. The St.Jude Marathon was the first marathon I ever did and living in Memphis helped to really understand what St. Jude is all about. I want to make a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by raising $500 for the cause and more if I can!
Soon I will be setting up a fundraising page and asking you all to join in, in helping me raise funds to inspire hope in children who are battling cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. So stay tuned!
P.S. Any Chicago Peeps out there want to host me for the weekend???? I am a super fun house guest ;)
The fun has just begun here at NHS on this beautiful Friday! Stay tuned for more fun on my lunch post for a give-away and promotion!
Question: What marathon would you love to do if you ever had the chance???
